Rick Rude

Did he ever win the Championship or was he stuck in the IC level?

What about in WCW?

Disturbed316 01-16-2007 05:54 PM

Mid-card hell I beleive.

Shaved Monkey 01-16-2007 05:58 PM

Didn't he win the WCW international title or something like that?

Disturbed316 01-16-2007 06:03 PM

Yeah, although it wasn't the "big one".

Xero 01-16-2007 06:08 PM

Wasn't that title technically the NWA championship, but they had to change the name when they broke away from the NWA?

The Ravishing One 01-16-2007 07:03 PM

Correct.

He beat Flair for the NWA title, shortly afterwards WCW withdrew from the NWA renaming it the WCW International title.

Yep, Rude was a World Champ and the top heel in WCW in the early 90's. He worked Main Event matches in WWF too.

The key word being "worked" in that sentance. He made the Ultimate Warrior :foc:

I so wish Rude had gone over at Summerslam 1990 in the cage. Even if it wasn't a clean win. Just have Rude go over, wrestle a traditional Survivor Series match with a team of his vs the Warrior's, have Bobby Heenan work some magic saying that Warrior couldn't get a rematch- Warrior enters and wins the Rumble and beats Rude at Mania 7.

Sure, it woulda really screwed things up continuity wise with the way things happened, but it woulda meant Rude would have the title from August 1990-March/April 1991.

didnt rude beat sting for the world title in japan when rude suffered his career ending back injury?

The Ravishing One 01-17-2007 02:19 PM

Yeah, but they had to change it because Rude couldn't defend it.

The Ravishing One 01-17-2007 02:23 PM

Just for the record, heres how he broke his back.....

Sting flew out of the ring, onto Rude

Rude caught him and both guys went back

Catching his lower back on the corner of that raised platform :'(

Stickman 01-17-2007 05:38 PM
