Can anyone recommend me a decent PC gamepad?

Yeah, looking for something to use basically for emulators. Something with a good D-pad, since I will be using it for a lot of fighting games. The less expensive the better, of course.

Thinking about one of these 2:

I have always rocked the Gravis Gamepad Pro but those look pretty sexy.

Is the one I use, and works great for every emulator i've had.

There is also an USB adapter that lets you use a PS2 pad for like $5. Thinking about that as well.

I was about to order that actually, until I read the amazon reviews. Plus the D-pad looks crappy.

Avoid Nyko.

I have gone with the Logitech Rumblepad 2. Thank you all for your input. Reputation shall be doled out.

The Xbox 360 controller is the best gamepad, but it's like $40. I have an adapter that lets you use a PS2 controller, cost like 10 bucks, works fine. I had some of those Logitech dual pads, they are pieces of crap in my opinion, but that rumble one might be different..

I use the xbox 360 controller for more advanced games, but it's a bit shit for mame, then again, if you're playing arcade you need a stick.

I also have an analogue gravis 10 button pad that I got for like $2. It's perfect for nes sega etc emulation.

Also, if anyone has xbox 360 wireless controllers you can buy a receiver for your PC. Which rules.

Does the 360 controller require anything like a driver?

Bad Company 01-30-2007 06:39 PM

Yeah, there's a couple of different drivers out there. The 3rd party one is better.

Kane Knight 01-30-2007 06:59 PM

Just curious. I only have two wireless, so I don't really have any means to try it.

Silent 01-31-2007 01:33 AM

It comes with a driver that you can also download off of Microsoft's site for free.. Haven't tried the 3rd party drivers, but I don't really use the pad that much. I was using it a lot when I played FFXi but I quit a while ago.

Best $20 you'll spend until the next time.

I think I might eventually invest in one of those. :y:
