Deuce and Domino

i gotta say, i love these guys.

what r ur opinions of them?

Dorkchop 02-02-2007 12:27 AM

I only saw their Smackdown debut. They seem pretty good in the ring. Horrible horrible gimmick though. Really horrible. As long as they deliver in the ring, I'll look past the horrible horrible gimmick.

Testicle 02-02-2007 12:32 AM

The gimick is not their fault, but I have to say that they have not been all that impressive in the ring. Just more WWE wrestling, all punches and kicks.

Agreed, I only saw the one match and their in-ring work was terrible. They got absolutly no pop either.

weather vane 02-02-2007 12:49 AM

have never seen them

what is the gimmick?

Road Warrior 02-02-2007 12:54 AM

Greasers, leather jackets, white t-shirts 57 chevy, car hop shit

thedamndest 02-02-2007 01:06 AM

Their valet is on roller skates and they're billed as being from "The Other Side of the Tracks" which sounds a lot like the new Dudleyville. Is it coincidence that they debut shortly after the Grease reality show? Is it? IS IT??

FourFifty 02-02-2007 01:10 AM

So we have a nobody, The Dynamic Dudette, and Jimmy Snuka Jr.

St. Jimmy 02-02-2007 04:40 AM

They're not on RAW? So they don't exist. Okay. Good times.

Rammsteinmad 02-02-2007 05:26 AM

Lol, why can't people debut without some gimmick or another these days?

Burchill started out without one. Sure, he became a pirate soon after, but until then, nobody knew who he was. That guy who tagged with Benoit didn't have a gimmick either. And if you don't count the fact that they were twins against them, the Bashams didn't have a goofy gimmick either.

Blitz 02-02-2007 10:28 AM

I am enjoying them quite a bit. I think they play the gimmick well and I haven't got a problem with their ring work.

KingofOldSchool 02-02-2007 10:30 AM

I love the Untouchables, they are entertaining and are a good tag team combo.

And btw, they are a Paul Heyman creation.

Loose Cannon 02-02-2007 01:23 PM

these guys are awesome. Love this gimmick. Very original. Outsider like. No, not the tag team, The book/movie.

Jeritron 02-02-2007 01:35 PM

Everyone gets a gimmick at first, if you don't you're just one of those generic dark match wrestlers who gets called up for the occasional squash.
You just have to break from the gimmick and become a persona.
The only talent that debuts as a persona already, already has a persona from another company like Jericho or Benoit, and even Monty Brown.

Volare 02-02-2007 05:13 PM

Give them a tag title shot and have them escorted by "The greatest Intercontinental Champion Of All Time...The Honky Tonk Man!!!"

Jeritron 02-02-2007 05:19 PM

Serioulsy, between this, boogeyman, little bastard and some of the other stuff they have on smackdown I just wonder how long it is until they reintroduce the red white and blue ropes and rehire Mean Gene.

Testicle 02-02-2007 05:30 PM

Those ropes really pissed me off.

Skippord 02-02-2007 05:56 PM

Terrorist

Djscorpion 02-02-2007 09:05 PM

Some of the gimmicks WWE puts out is pathetic and this is one of them...do they really think that 18 yr olds like me are gonna fuckin enjoy stuff like the boogey man

Jeritron 02-02-2007 09:10 PM

they're not worried about you, they're worried about getting kids. Just like they were in the late 80's. And then I suppose theres the theory that they'll change to accomidate the maturity of fans, like in the Attitude era.
I'm not saying this is true, but the WWE certainly is concerned about reeling in kids and not you.

Mr. Nerfect 02-02-2007 09:24 PM

I am actually digging The Throwbacks from the Other Side of the Tracks, and although I think it is too early for them to win the WWE Tag Team Championship, I think they could make a really interesting team.

I am surprised by how agile Domino is. I've heard good things about Deuce Shade, and I think he is more a singles guy, but he will grow into the role by working with guys like London and Kendrick. I love the way these women I don't think are too hot on the independant scene become scorching when they debut on WWE programming. I can't wait to see Katie Lea debut. Not much room for improvement, but if they can increase her hotness by the same percentage...

"The Whack 'Em in the Mouth" is a pretty nifty double-team move, too. At first I was thinking how shit a kick to the face was, but now I'm really into it. I think these two guys will grow into fantastic performers. I like the gimmick, as well. It seems silly, but I think of it like a Goldust-like facade. They hide how talented and dangerous they really are behind grease and leather jackets. What do you think of two guys who dress like 50's greasers? You underestimate them, of course.

The Bashams were bondage freaks.

Afterlife 02-03-2007 10:15 AM

The gimmick is cliche, but it's a refreshing cliche. As I said before, they're going all-out to do it over the top on purpose, and if you're taking the gimmick seriously, you're an idiot. There's a big picture here, and it's called "showmanship". The company's top stars are grounded in it, and you can't develop a character without it.

AJHayes 02-03-2007 12:23 PM

I loathe the gimmick, their in ring work sucks something awful. But, their finish is kind of cool, in that "move that should be used in the middle of a match" sort of way.

DAMN iNATOR 02-03-2007 01:39 PM

mainly you can never hear a pop for them because they are on the recieving end of heat not pops (booing as opposed to cheering for a babyface or heel wrestler), and their gimmick certainly could've been worse...their gimmick kinda reminds me of "Happy Days" and "The Fonz" as well as "Back To The Future Part I", which I suppose it's supposed to, can't stand the guys, but "Cherry" is pretty good looking even by 50's standards if she had actually been someone in the 50s...
