Vince McMahon is planning on wrestling in a main event at this year's SummerSlam.

Dustin "Goldust" Runnels and his younger brother Cody Runnels (who is currently in OVW) will be inducting their father Dusty Rhodes into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Henry O. Godwinn wrestled at both SmackDown/ECW house shows yesterday in Lowell, MA. He teamed up with 'Cousin Ray', who is DSW wrestler Ray Gordy. They defeated Dave Taylor and William Regal in both of their matches yesterday. Godwinn, who turns 43 years old this Friday, has been spending time in Deep South Wrestling as a wrestler/coach since signing a contract with WWE back in September.

I'd like to take a minute to point something out real quick...

Vince McMahon is planning on wrestling in a main event at this year's SummerSlam.

Vince vs Trump.

Vince vs Trump in a "YOU'RE FIIIIIIIIREEED" match. Whoever makes the other guy say "I'M FIRED" first wins.

Ninti the Mad 03-11-2007 08:18 PM

It will probably be against Michaels or something.

Azriel 03-11-2007 08:28 PM

Probably more Foley or Austin

jindrak 03-11-2007 08:29 PM

Vince needs to stop, seriously. In small doses he is tolerable...but if he has a match, it will be overkill.

FourFifty 03-11-2007 08:58 PM

GOLDUST!!!!!!!!!!!!

KingofOldSchool 03-11-2007 09:46 PM

Vince vs. Foley

KayfabeMan 03-11-2007 10:37 PM

It'll be Vince vs. Common Sense....

He apparently lost this one a long time ago, and is trying again.

Jeritron 03-12-2007 09:03 AM

Can't believe nobody beat me to this....

Vince vs Rey Mysterio.

It was reported a couple weeks ago Rey would be returning in July sometime, and would be getting a "main event push for summerslam"
Vince and Umaga beat Rey down pretty good. I wonder if thats long term booking at work.

It's a best of seven series. He's down by three.

Rammsteinmad 03-12-2007 10:39 AM

Holy shit! Sweet! This is awesome! It's about time Vince main evented. Seriously, at his age this guy is still better than half the roster and he can put on five star matches. I can't wait for this! I hope it's against Austin. That would be off the charts!

Sadly, this is 100% true.

M-A-G 03-12-2007 01:34 PM

The fact that a good chunk of the roster is at times called to sell for a 61-year old egotist and kiss his ass speaks volumes for their current state doesn't it?

Kind of. Shane is better than 80% of the roster just flat out. Vince I would say is better than a lot for a variety of reasons, first and foremost is probably just how over his persona and character is, and his presence on a television screen and in a wrestling ring. Second is his willingness to do the big spots. Vince has had "good" matches, but they've all been with huge main eventers just beating him up and down the arena into a bloody pulp before a run in or a pin.
At the end of the day, I'd rather watch Shawn Michaels or Stone Cold or Foley, (or whoever has or will step into a ring with him), beat the living hell out of him on live tv, than watch Hardcore Holly vs Snitsky.

Rammsteinmad 03-12-2007 02:24 PM

WTF? I was being sarcastic... now everyone's all "Vince is better than most" or "He's over"... What is this world coming to?

Jeritron 03-12-2007 02:27 PM

Because in a way, its true. Honestly, would you rather watch Snitsky vs Holly. Or would you rather watch Foley beat on Vince?

tucsonspeed6 03-12-2007 03:20 PM

I'd rather see Snitsky kill Vinces babies...

Jeritron 03-12-2007 03:21 PM

that makes two of us

Jeritron 03-12-2007 03:22 PM

I'd rather see Stephanie disowned, Triple H take her spot in the family and Shane take over complete control and bring in Paul Heyman as his head booker.

Yeah, this is actually what I thought too, but what's in bold could be the flaw in our LOGIC and INNOVATIVE thinking Jeritron. Question is, will Vince be bald? Will he be wearing a mask? Will it be a Mask vs. Mask match? Will anyone watch? Will anyone care? Will I stop asking stupid fucking questions? I don't know?

What I do know is that I don't want to see this....whatever it is.

yep an the viewers have no choice ether this crap or the crap russo puts out

Jeritron 03-12-2007 05:58 PM

I'd rather see Rey Mysterio booked to go for a title, and it be about him an not Eddie. If booked correctly against the right opponents, he could have a much more credible second reign, even though it'd be best to be kept short and sweet. For instance, putting him up against a Shawn Michaels makes mrore sense than putting him up against a real big heavyweight.

Though we'll probably see them feed him to Umaga

I'd rather watch neither... but then again, Holly and Snitsky don't make up "half the roster"...

NeanderCarl 03-12-2007 08:32 PM

I don't mind so much. Yeah, it's a spot that could go to a more deserving wrestler, but at least we're guaranteed something entertaining with Vince in the ring. He'll take all the short cuts and big spots, and the match will be overbooked, but you know what? Even if it's not a technical classic, it will be half decent from a fun perspective.

I thought that McMahon vs HBK at last year's WrestleMania was one of the better matches on the card, and you just know Vince is going to pick a guy to work with who can carry him to an entertaining contest, be it in-ring or crowd-heat wise.

So I say "so what?" Things could be worse, and Vince will still be stepping into the ring until the day he can't possibly, physically pull it off anymore so may as well switch out "wrestling" minds off and let ourselves just enjoy it for what it is, because it isn't going away.

Caged Heat18 03-13-2007 07:50 AM

It'll be Vince v. Hogan in the rematch from Wrestlemania XIX.

Like TNA was some oasis for great pro wrestling programming before they brought Russo back.

Fignuts 03-13-2007 11:29 AM

vince's matches are fucking awesome, so i don't have a problem with this.

dude, do you want me to post the whole roster and sort out the over/entertaining stars? because I will, and I'll be generous. And I'm sure that theres much less than half who are on the level of Vince.

jimmy012345 03-13-2007 12:51 PM

vince needs to get the heck off of tv already

NeanderCarl 03-13-2007 01:22 PM

No he doesn't. He's entertaining. The interaction between he and Austin was a highlight of Raw last week.

Even though we've seen it before, I love the way the Austin/McMahon relationship has developed over the years. From bitter hatred, to a more comical relationship as the years have gone by.

Jeritron 03-13-2007 02:50 PM

There's no denying that Vince is entertaining, convincing in his onscreen character, willing to go the distance in and out of the ring, and pretty fucking over among fans. So he belongs on TV.

Mercury Bullet 03-13-2007 06:02 PM

He is an entertaining character that once in a blue moon should be in a match.

And never in the main event...

NeanderCarl 03-14-2007 12:35 AM

I can't remember the last time Vince was in the actual MAIN EVENT (as in the last match) of a PPV, though.

Maybe KOTR 2000?

Jeritron 03-14-2007 04:46 AM

when they say Main Event I highly doubt that means the final match of the night. With Brand extension and shit, the term main event is thrown around.

NeanderCarl 03-14-2007 04:10 PM

Ha remember when WCW legally had to call The Demon's matches "The Main Event", even if it was the opening match.
