First Iron Man movie pics.

So its been said that he will have two armors in this movie, one based on his first appearance, the other a modern version. The following is the FA version. Pretty awesome tbh.

a Cyberman would kick his arse

ClockShot 04-14-2007 11:24 AM

You know, I thought this was the one Rob Downey and Terrence Howard were doing. Any idea who's cast for this?

Kalyx triaD 04-14-2007 11:46 AM

Nice.

YOUR Hero 04-14-2007 12:03 PM

Magnet Man would totally kick his ass.

The Destroyer 04-14-2007 12:04 PM

Looking very good. A nice spin on the original armour, without looking out of place.

Beyond that, there's Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts and Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stane. There's also rumours that Shaun Toub is going to be the Mandarin, but they're unconfirmed for now.

Lock Jaw 04-14-2007 03:52 PM

Iron Robocop Giant

Blitz 04-14-2007 06:24 PM

I  The Destroyer's avatar.

Funky Fly 04-14-2007 08:35 PM

Should be cool, provided it doesn't go the Fantastic 4 route.

The Destroyer 04-15-2007 08:00 AM

The route of being crap?

Which one? The 90s one or the new one?

YOUR Hero 04-15-2007 01:31 PM

MAGNET MAN!

G 04-15-2007 02:44 PM

war machine would kick his ass

Jon Kano 04-15-2007 04:58 PM

No hope for this movie at all. Just you wait - hype, anticipation...yeah. In the end it will suck.

Nowhere Man 04-15-2007 05:07 PM

Oh, don't be such an optimist there, Kano.

Jon Kano 04-15-2007 05:47 PM

I don't see Robert Downey Jr as a good choice for such a role, I can't take 'Iron Man' seriously anyway as hero or whatever and I dunno, seems they arnt making superhero movies for the right reasons anymore, just like they are picking them off for no reason and having a shot at bringing them to the big-screen without any real thought or excellence to the product.

Boondock Saint 04-15-2007 06:28 PM

They're making superhero movies to make money...that's their only reasoning.

Boondock Saint 04-15-2007 06:29 PM

Also, I'm excited for this. I think Favreau was a great choice for director.

A reason which produces tacky casting, a pointless plot and an increasing hole of childhood memories leaving my already joyless imagination.

Funky Fly 04-15-2007 08:13 PM

They should do a Deadpol movie. That'd be money.

Funky Fly 04-15-2007 08:14 PM

Deadpool, even.

Rammsteinmad 04-15-2007 08:30 PM

Looks cool. :y:

It could work.

After all, who better to play a drunk billionaire playboy then a drunk millionaire playboy?

Funky Fly 04-15-2007 09:15 PM

LOL Lock Jaw.

Dudley Moore?,...Adam Sandler?

Funky Fly 04-15-2007 11:40 PM

a dead guy and a comedian?

I actually saw that question in a 'who else/did' kind of tone. Just saying Mr Moore and Mr Sandler did it perfectly in their respected films.

Anyway......I still can't/don't/won't see RDJ as a convincing superhero. HW's latest superhero flicks have been horrible and I fear this choice of an adaptation is very much a bad one.

Skippord 04-16-2007 03:21 AM

Robert Downey Jr is an awesome pick for the movie

he can play drunk Tony Stark to a tee

Skippord 04-16-2007 03:21 AM

And its not like Tony Stark is real impressive with out the suit anyway

Exactly, Iron man has a decent back story that needs to be told to decent acting to get an emotional buy in, it's not like the guy has to be a brick shithouse either and it's all about the suit at the end of the day.

And that's only 1 of 2 suits right? In the comics didn't he build a prototype then later make the one we all know and remember.

Downunder 04-16-2007 07:51 AM

A Dalek would own him as well

YOUR Hero 04-16-2007 10:00 PM

Yeah, out of necessity he built the one you see in the picture. Regular people found it terrifying after he saved them, though, so he redisigned it with upgrades and went with the less intimidating red/gold colour scheme.
