That would suck. Why not just have the Fatal Fourway build normally, and have Orton win it then? It would actually be much better that way.
John Cena has the best chance to win. The guy went about an hour on RAW, and he lost cleanly. I doubt they'd job SuperCena out again. So yeah, I'm pretty sure all logic points to Cena retaining.
Edge has the next best chance at winning the WWE Title. It would fit with his opportunist character, as both Cena and HBK could be passed off as tired from their last match. Cena and HBK would then chase Edge, which could even lead to some kind of Elimination Chamber down the line. Throw in Randy Orton, Triple H and Umaga have you have yourself a full house.
Behind Edge, would be Randy Orton, assuming there was no heat on him. He's young, he's never been WWE Champion before, and he was actually decent according to what I heard about him before he allegedly fucked up.
Shawn Michaels actually doesn't have much chance of winning, at all, in my opinion. That changed a bit, when he shed the DX image. New life was breathed into him a little. Then he went over John Cena cleanly in a long match. That's probably the closest Shawn Michaels will come. He could win the WWE Championship soon, but I think it is more likely to be from Edge than Cena.
I think a more shocking, and more likely, ending to the Backlash PPV, is for John Cena to retain the WWE Championship, while JR and King sing his praises for going through three challengers, despite losing a 60-minute match on RAW. Then Mr. Kennedy comes out, cashes in his MITB title shot, and soundly beats Cena for his first WWE Championship.
Mr. Kennedy vs. John Cena is one of the few programs Cena could work, and I would actually be interested in watching.
