Are SD's Champions Cursed?
 

I want to take a look at the guys who have been champion on Smackdown in the past few years.

Gurrerro: Dead
JBL: Retired from the ring due to injury
Cena: Left Smackdown
Batista: Forfeits title due to injury
Angle: Loses mind
Mysterio: Has piss-poor run, then goes on to injury
Booker T: Injured
Undertaker: Injured

And just when Kennedy's name was being whispered to replace Taker... injured. Not a happy sight, the Smackdown champions of the past few. The only one who hasnt suffered some misfortue was the one who left Smackdown with his belt.

Yeah its weird when you think about it, I fear for Edge now.

The only thing is, you can't really add Cena to that list. He still has the belt that he had on Smackdown. If Cena's any part of a curse, it's the curse on the WWE championship in which nobody other than Cena can hold it for more than a couple weeks.

Sounds an awful lot like WCW.

Come to think about it, what if Gurrero cursed it when he died? Kind of a "You defiled my death. Now your top title is cursed for a thousand years!" Edge wasn't wrestling during this time. He may be immune.

Eddie and JBL were WWE champions, Batista, Angle, Booker, Mysterio, and Taker were World champions. So, yeah, :wtf:

You can add Brock to the list though, like Angle, he kind of lost his mind and ended up looking like a joke. I'd be more inclined to believe that HHH cursed the Smackdown championship scene the day he became WHC.

It would make sense... Benoit is in great shape at the moment. When he was Champion he was on... Raw.

Maybe Edge's title run and career on Smackdown will get SPEARED :shifty:

Smackdown hasnt has a great champion in a long time, Booker T is probably my favorate of the last few years.

Eddie and JBL were good, Booker is probably the best one since the Big Gold Belt came to Smackdown.

JBL was good and did entertain me, however the same could not be said about his work in the ring.

Brock Lesnar also left the company for a failed run in football
Big Show is also gone

Yeah but that was like 5 years after he was champion.

Paul and Brian never got a big time tri brand ppv match ever.

Keep in mind that Angle lost hs mind before headlining Smackdown, Taker already had one injury, Batista's been injury prone for a while, and Rey was supposed to go out on injury before they got the idea to milk Eddie's name ofr all it was worth.

And Eddie? I love Eddie, but he fucked himself over years ago.

Is Smackdown cursed, or do they put the title on a number of injury prone wrestlersin the main event scene? One or two guys might have been legitimately injured as a result of an unexpected injury, but Mysterio already needed surgery. Batista already needed surgery. Batista continued to work with another injury. Taker needed surgery.

Booker's no spring chicken. Neither is JBL.

And Angle? That guy's been killing himself for ages, now.,

I wish they would have put the title on William Regal, but that's never gonna happen.

Actually, the only plus side about this is that Edge seems to be injury proned, and he's got the title...So...

Then they should give Mark the title and watch the universe unravel.

Regal has got a chance at getting the Smackdown title. He's injury prone so thus a perfect candidate.
