What wrestlers...

...that you started out hating but have grown on you over time?

Mine would definately be MVP. After seeing him wrestle I realized he has loads of talent and he makes a pretty good heel.

Mercury Bullet 06-09-2007 02:19 PM

MVP is definately one, couldn't stand him at first but he is definately loaded with potential to be a huge star.

The Rock is another, but actually, I think I never really liked him until he was gone. With the current 'talent' and roster, I have a new appreciation for him. I mean, I always acknowledged that he was a great mic worker and packed with charisma but I always slammed his in-ring work. In retrospect, he really was more acceptable in the ring than a lot of guys. And, his charisma is unrivaled and probably never will be.

Christian. I thought he lacked the presence of a legit star, even at the midcard level in WWE. I didn't think he could go beyond being the "Other Guy" in a tag team. But he is deserving of the main event in any promotion right now.

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumaga

Same. I never realized how great he actually was until others tried to take his place.

mrslackalack 06-09-2007 02:49 PM

MVP, Umaga, and Deuce and Domino

The Optimist 06-09-2007 02:50 PM

Sadly, I have to admit that after being the biggest Umaga hater I know around the time that he started fueding with Cena I started to appreciate him alot more. He's athletic for a man his size, has a great move with the pop-up then catch then Sslam routine. He can pull off the monster gimmick well. They need better direction and to stick with a manager and he could main event for several years.

Anybody Thrilla 06-09-2007 02:54 PM

It really irks me that Umaga never got a decision over Lashley during that entire feud.

Anybody Thrilla 06-09-2007 02:54 PM

Also, I don't really hate Lashley.

The Optimist 06-09-2007 02:57 PM

Yeah Lashley vs. Umaga could have been cool in a Monster Fued, too bad they turned it into one facet of "We're trying to recreate Steve Austin and Brock Lesnar at the same time."

D Mac 06-09-2007 02:58 PM

Umaga vs Khali could be entertaining.

IC Champion 06-09-2007 02:59 PM

I didnt like MVP, Umaga, The Rock, or Stone Cold, really at first.

mrslackalack 06-09-2007 03:03 PM

Yeah Umaga didnt get a pinfall over Lashley, but Vince did.

IC Champion 06-09-2007 03:06 PM

Kurt Angle.

KingofOldSchool 06-09-2007 03:34 PM

MVP

Destor 06-09-2007 03:36 PM

Kennedy

Anybody Thrilla 06-09-2007 04:13 PM

Now that I think about it, this is the first time I've ever liked Jeff Hardy.

Juan 06-09-2007 05:05 PM

HHH

Shaggy 06-09-2007 05:29 PM

Umaga

Chris Masters

Khali :shifty: ....What?

311 06-09-2007 06:03 PM

Finlay, Ric Flair.

I hated both at first, but now I watch Smackdown mostly for Finlay, and Flair is my favorite wrestler of all time. :y:

Jordan 06-09-2007 06:14 PM

Umaga, Cena, Lashley, and Khali

FourFifty 06-09-2007 06:35 PM

Umaga, MVP, and The Boogeyman

311 06-09-2007 07:40 PM

New ECW roster.

Blitz 06-09-2007 07:42 PM

Cade and Murdoch have been growing on me lately.

The Fugitive 06-09-2007 07:54 PM

Flair and RVD come immediately to mind, I'm sure there's others.

311 06-09-2007 07:55 PM

Jimmy! Wang! Yang!

*points stinky thumbs*

mrslackalack 06-09-2007 10:36 PM

All Time its prolly Shane Douglas.

.44 Magdalene 06-10-2007 10:06 AM

Chris Masters.

Mr. Nerfect 06-10-2007 10:20 AM

I agree with a lot of the names listed here. I never really liked him, but if The Rock returned tomorrow, I would mark the fuck out. It made me happy to see him get booed against Hogan at WrestleMania X8. In retrospect, I feel sorry for the guy. He is someone the WWE could really use at this point in time.

There are a lot of guys I never really appreciated the talent of, and hence didn't like just because the IWC gave them blowjobs. Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Ric Flair come to mind. I never really "disliked" those guys, though.

I never liked Jeff Hardy. Matt was always my favourite, and he was the one I thought had all the talent. Jeff was just the guy who jumped off ladders. Since he has come back to the WWE, however, I have found myself to be enjoying his matches. Even his routine spots from the Attitude era are kind of refreshing to see. He has also employed more psychology into his matches. Some of his work with Johnny Nitro was just great. It has gotten to the point where seeing Jeff Hardy with the IC Title doesn't make me sick, and in fact, I think he deserves the belt.

Mr. Nerfect 06-10-2007 10:22 AM

Chris Masters is a guy I didn't hate, and wanted to get behind, but I never really enjoyed him. Since the wellness policy came into place, however, I have sympathy for the guy, because the writers had nothing past "The Masterpiece" character for him.

he needs Estrada as his manager again. He has been on a downward spiral since aligning himself with the McMahons.
