Ok, it has to be asked.
Do you like the "Vince Got Blowed Up" angle or not?
|
It's different and it makes me want to watch just to see where the fuck they are going with this.
|
No sir, I don't like it. It is a slap in the face to all the wrestlers that did die. Well, more of pissing on their grave. Plus, it doesn't get Vince off of tv, now he will be mentioned at every event they go to for then next 6 months.
Also, what are they going to do when he really dies? |
Probably they'll just replay the tribute videos we're about to be treated to.
|
I likes it. It's (sort of) fresh. It's generating some buzz. It's actually got a sense of you don't know where they might go with this. For now, it's good. Once they "Austin Got Ran Over By A Car" it, and by that I mean fuck up the pay off (which I am almost certain they will do) then I hate it. But until they actually do something to make me turn on this angle, it gets the Tovo Stamp of :y:.

I really fail to see why people are having such a hard time expecting this. 'Mr. McMahon' is a television character. He got killed off(presumably) in a car bomb. Now we will see a series of storylines run from it. I don't mean this as a personal shot at you, because a lot of people have taken the same opinion, but I don't understand why. It's similar to what I said in a different thread. When J.R Ewing got shot, did anyone turn around and say "I can't believe they want me to think Larry Hagman is dead!" or that it was a slap in the face of people who actually got shot. |
It's not like he died of a drug overdose or was found dead in a hotel room.
It's wrestling and it's over the top. Movies show people getting killed by gunfire, people get killed by gunfire everyday. Does that make showing in movies, classless? |
I can't wait until this is referenced in a court case.
"He got the idea after watching the character Mr. McMahon get blown up." |

1) Shut up noob.
2) J. R. Ewing and Larry Hagman are clearly different people. While Mr. McMahon is based heavily off Vince, and played by the same guy as well. It isn't as clear cut. 3) It isn't just a TV show, it is still real to me damnit. |

2) I know its not clear cut, but they state its entertainment, and its even in the name. It is no different in that respect to any other show. 3) Ok I'll let you off on that one :shifty: |
Looks like me and BDC are the only 2 "no" votes then
|
Yeah, I like it. For the first time in ages, people rang me about an angle, so it did its job.
|
Yes. I love how they are making seem so real right now that's is almost walking a thin like between being real or fake. The flag on Titon, the 10 bell, the FBI. I think it's awesome and very realistic. I just hope they continue with this and don't start bringing in Sherrif Austin or Police Commisioner Foley to start a Private Investigation.
I also hope it doesn't end in Vince faking his own death and coming back. |
I don't like it and the reason is because Vince WILL be on TV again. He'll probably be there next week.
It reaks of HHH been dropped in a car from a crane. |

What if McMahon really did kill himself on Raw?

First off, its wayyyyy too early to give a definite answer to gauge if I like it or not. It's Wednesday morning.
But I can't see this going anywhere good. Yeah, there's a bit of a who-done-it thing going on. But I've already bet my money on Steve-o/Jackass. Yeah, it gets McMahon off tv for a while. Then there's a slap in my face waiting for the day he gets resurrected in an even stupider way than the way he died. Basically unless it ends differently than I see, which is extremely possible, we're ending up in the red. |

Voted thumbs down.

Some "Optimist" you are!

I'm an Optimist that enjoys irony. I didn't say it could be good in the future, I said its bad right now.

Ha. I hope I'm wrong about it.

Remember when Kane fell into a fire pit?
|
That was a dumpster, actually.
|
I voted :n: because there was no "meh" option. I don't like it, but I don't hate it.
|
If it's played right, it could be the biggest angle EVER.
So yeah as of so far it's a :y: from me, it's got me watching and it's got people talking. Whether it will be a success or not is a different matter but as it stands - :y: |
Frankly, I think the whole angle stinks, and will most likely devolve into some sort of stupid "whodunit" thing ( )...

That said, it was the first RAW that I've watched in about 2 months and that was because of this angle.</font> |
My first reaction was "Holy shit...that is ridiculous," then I warmed up to it almost instantly. It gets Vince off my TV (sure, he will still be mentioned, but at least Shane will be doing the talking), and it is a genuinely interesting angle. I mean, until it's revealed to be Steve-O. Until then, the who-dunnit aspect will actually be intriguing to me. I mean, blowing up Vince is the best way to get a push like...ever. Except maybe next to beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania, but you need to be slightly elevated for that, anyway, 'cause Taker won't just lie down for nobody.
I watched the angle with my family on RAW, and their reaction was "What is with Vince? Haha, why are we just watching him walk for so long?" I told them to keep watching, then he got in his limo and BOOM! My dad started laughing hysterically, as did I, and my nephew was kind of scared by it all. He knows it's all fake, but he was under the belief Santino Marella was actually a fan, and was disappointed when he found out otherwise. There was some markish fear in him, and he couldn't understand why his uncle and grandfather were laughing. Then my dad started to get into it, and asked me all these questions. "Why did Vince go crazy? Is he actually dying, and he just decided to go out with a bang? Is he leaving the company to his son?" Then he asked me something that made me completely question his sanity: "Are you sure he's not actually dying, because it didn't look like a stuntman?" :| No, he actually decided to blow himself up for RAW. My dad is pretty crafty onto things, he knows when wrestlers aren't going to fight ("You know he's not going to do anything, because he's still wearing his watch"). I think this is just something that is alluring people's creativity. I think even those who realise that wrestling is fixed are at least slightly interested in where this is going. If the WWE has it revealed to be someone the fans can instantly latch on to, and can expect to be around for some time (ie. non-Jackass guys), the WWE could have one of its hottest angles on its hands. |
Here's the biggest question - IF they went with someone blowing it up and Vince somehow surviving (because he must return sooner or later) instead of the "I was behind it" angle, would they wind up being heel or face?
Whichever it'll be they would probably be the hottest one going, but it's not obvious on what side they'd be on. Vince is heel, but the guy who did it would be attempting to kill a man going insane. ...Yeah, they'll just be going with the "I did it, and now you all care" angle. |
I dont completely agree with this angle however it has had all the smarks, marks and people who dont even watch, talking about this "death".
