Preview:In the wake of tragedy

At the end of Raw last week, Mr. McMahon was presumed killed in a horrific limo explosion — a moment that will forever taint what was otherwise an historic WWE Draft. As Raw heads into the Coliseum in Richmond, Va. this Monday night, its Superstars must cope with the fact that WWE’s Chairman is for all intents gone, his body seemingly lost in the flames that engulfed his limousine.

It’s hard to focus past the black cloud that has encircled World Wrestling Entertainment all week long. No one will speak ill of the deceased, though it was apparent after last week’s “Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night” that many of WWE’s Superstars, our fans and numerous celebrities saw him as a pathetic, power-mad dictator. But now that he’s gone, what exactly does he leave behind? And how will it affect Raw’s Superstars in Richmond this Monday night?

As for the WWE Draft itself, last week Raw said goodbye to The Great Khali, Torrie Wilson, Chris Masters and Ric Flair; however Raw also welcomed its newest Superstars to the roster: King Booker, Queen Sharmell, Snitsky, Mr. Kennedy and Bobby Lashley. Needless to say, all will have a profound impact on Raw in the coming weeks. However, Lashley — who was stripped of his ECW World Title after being randomly selected in the Draft — is planning to make his mark a little quicker than the rest. He had already established a strong Raw presence during his rivalry with Mr. McMahon over the past few months; does he have an advantage over the other “newcomers” as they enter the Richmond Coliseum this Monday?

In the ashes of tragedy, life begins anew on Raw, Monday night at 9/8 CT on USA Network.

So I guess the C.O.O. of the company is going to be on the show.

Kalyx triaD 06-18-2007 08:50 PM

So who's GM of Raw?

KingofOldSchool 06-18-2007 08:50 PM

Coach is taking over on an interim basis.

Loose Cannon 06-18-2007 08:51 PM

Looking foward to this. Just watched when Tugboat turned on the Bushwhackers and turned heel. lol, that came out of nowhere.

LOL

I remember that.

I was like. :wtf:

And I was only like 8-9 at the time.

KingofOldSchool 06-18-2007 08:54 PM

Will we see Foley tonight? After all he is in the main event at the PPV 6 days from now.

yea, like you could potentially see it coming a mile away today if they were to do it, but back then you were perplexed.

I liked how Vince called it "oh no, Jimmy Hart got to Tugboat."

KingofOldSchool 06-18-2007 09:02 PM

Well even today it still makes me go "what the fuck were they thinking?"

I mean what was Tugboat reasoning to do it?

Who cares? He sucked.

Loose Cannon 06-18-2007 09:10 PM

Well actually rewatching it, it made sense. Cause the week or two before on Superstars Jimmy said he signed Andre to be Earthquake's tag partner and they would protect the Nasty Boys, who were Hart's champions.

But Andre denied Hart and Earthquake took Andre out (that was very cool btw)

So Hart went to the next big man, Tugboat, and got him to join to team with Quake.

I haven't gotten this far yet on the DVD's, but then somewhere Earthquake and Typhoon turn face because they get sick of being Hart's number 2 team.

Corndad 06-18-2007 09:15 PM

Nice.

Last year I bought every single SNME and The Main Event on eBay.

I'm only up until the build for Wrestlemania IV.

oh sweet. I want those badly. I almost bought SNME set this time, but opted for Superstars instead. I really wanted to see the Jake Roberts heel stuff being played out.

KingofOldSchool 06-18-2007 09:24 PM

Going through YouTube I never knew Bad News Brown and The Twin Towers appeared on Arsenio Hall.

Both segments were hilarious.

LOL I love Slick, he needs to come back and manage Snitsky.

darkpower 06-18-2007 09:28 PM

Gonna participate in this this time, I think....unless it sucks ass.

Also, remember the Kennedy burial should begin tonight.

KingofOldSchool 06-18-2007 09:29 PM

Nah, Kennedy probably won't be returning to the ring for another couple of weeks.

Meh...he was the most talked about trade on the nets, at least on here. NO ONE saw it coming, and he is very much over right now. I think he will be on in some way tonight.

You talking bout Kennedy? NO-ONE saw it coming?

To me it was obvious. The only thing that made me kind of doubt it was the fact that a ready-made feud with Edge would be out of the question.

How would he be the first canidate to be traded, then? He was only a heel on SD, and all signs were pointing to a sudden face turn before this happened.

Because he's a rising star, with main event potential. Raw is the flagship show. It's a no brainer, really.

NeanderCarl 06-18-2007 09:52 PM

Here goes...

Corndad 06-18-2007 09:52 PM

And we are off. Wonder if do anything for Sherri?

:wtf:

So EVERY rising star that ever gets popular MUST be moved to RAW?....

Wait...this is Vince McMahon...no logic in THAT brain!

KingofOldSchool 06-18-2007 09:52 PM

LOL no tribute to Sherri at the beginning.

NeanderCarl 06-18-2007 09:53 PM

Is that Bob Uecker saying "Andre The Giant" in the WWE intro?

ClockShot 06-18-2007 09:53 PM

Good evening fellas. Should be a good tonight.

Wow. No mention of Sheri, but they're gonna shove this shit down our throats.

Of course not...they put her real death way below the big "fake" Vince McMahon death. What makes you think they will here?
