KENNEDY!

So I was just thinking the other day and I came upon the realization that Kennedy is kind of like the next Rock. His in ring ability isn't really the same, but their Mic work seems to be pretty similar.

Anybody want to collaborate with what I think, or am I just going crazy?

Verbose Minch 07-05-2007 03:50 PM

...Kennedy!

chrisat928 07-05-2007 03:53 PM

I've said that since he debuted the Mr. Kennedy gimmick.

Verbose Minch 07-05-2007 03:54 PM

oic, I haven't been here long enough so I probably haven't seen that.

Kane Knight 07-05-2007 03:57 PM

I think you're looking for someone to corroborate. Spelling's a bit off, but at least it's the right word.

Dozens of people have said it. To be honest, dozens of wrestlers will probably be dubbed the next Rock.

Nice call. +1 internetz for you.

Oh, I didn't misspell it, I just used the wrong wording. :P

Anybody Thrilla 07-05-2007 04:01 PM

I just wish they would stop making him look like a little bitch all the time.

Mr. Pierre 07-05-2007 04:02 PM

I definitely think he's a huge part of WWE's future, but I just hope his momentum doesn't get killed like Orton's did back in 2004.

Uhhh...Yes. I was saying that I probably had it spelled wrong.

Verbose Minch 07-05-2007 04:17 PM

I see what you did there. I thought you were saying that my spelling was a bit off...

No one will ever be like Rocky

True Brit Grit 07-05-2007 05:04 PM

I agree with you, Kennedy could be the same if they allow him to develop like Rocky, but there are differences.

Rocky first REALLY got over as a heel, I think, and he only became a heel because fans were fed up of WWE ramming him down our throats as a babyface... there was something about the way that worked.

Kennedy is over, obviously, and a heel, but it took Rock until around 1998/9 before he really developed, will they give Kennedy that amount of time at that level?

Unfortunately, like Cena (Who I maintain should have been champion in the future) and Orton (Who was going to be anyway, so who cares?), they will likely take him and make him a lackluster main eventer instead of working on him as a midcarder.

Mr. Pierre 07-05-2007 06:03 PM

If they allowed Orton to be the leader of Evolution as WHC, his career would have been set. Instead, three years later he's having trouble making believers out of the marks that he can take the championship away from Cena.

Kane Knight 07-05-2007 07:54 PM

To be fair, part of the problem with Orton is that tehy made it clear he was going to be big, and then were stupid enough to think that they could deal with the issue by punishing him. Orton knows he'll be back, time and again, and he knows WWE will take it up the arse for a while each time.

As far as mic skills I don't think Kennedy can touch the Rock. Rock used energy, charisma, comedy, anger, and passion all at once and well at that unlike Mr I-think-i'm-so-funny-John Cena. "Wrestling performance" they could be on par with but watching Rock was very entertaining the way he sold moves and he was very athletic which most wrestlers aren't nowadays. They seem to be lazy and slow.

Kane Knight 07-06-2007 09:17 AM

Speaking of Cena, I tried to watch Raw Monday Night, but after hearing Cena say things like "Mr. Colostomy Bag," I gave up on it and started channel surfing. The Rock could have pulled it off, and JEricho could have pulled it off. If Angle was lame enough to say it, he probably could have as well.

Cena can't.

MISSSSTTTTTTTTTTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR KENNNNNNEEEEDDYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Moley, you are now one of my fave. posters.

Mercury Bullet 07-06-2007 01:52 PM

I think Kennedy will be a big deal, but MVP is going to be bigger.

Mr. Pierre 07-06-2007 03:15 PM

Here's to hoping MVP and Kennedy won't be making poop jokes by the end of 2007.

I thought the same thing, he's trying way too hard to be funny.

"Mr. Kenny G" was funny.

I don't think I caught that one. Either Cena really had me tuning out, or it was after I changed the channel.
