Sorry if I don't like some overrated shitface like Colbert. It's a sad state of affairs when a good chunk of the nation gets their news from people like him and is one of the many reasons (though admittedly a small one) this nation is falling apart.

So the fault is on a comedy show that's marked as comedy.

The fact that ANY people get their news, and in some cases their only news, from a comedy show more than a traditional outlet scares me.

So you think that comedy should steer clear of social and contemporary observations?

I only ask because before Colbert, it was the Daily Show. Before that, Leno/Conan/Letterman. And Carlin and Lenny Bruce. And comedians all over the country. People get their news from all sorts of sources, but is it really Colbert's fault? Colbert isn't even a reporter, nor does he pretend to be. Fox news pundits are far more damaging. Hell, pundits in general are.

Similarly, do you hate Conan and Leno and every night time talk show host? Even the coveted Dave Chappelle did it. Saturday Night Live. Etc. Etc. It seems like you are misinformed here.

Too be fair, the American news is all biased hype and hysteria to sell ad space. All people like Colbert do is make it funny.

That is why I get my news from either the Onion, Weekly World News, Matt Boone, or I make it up myself.

There is a big difference between a talk show/comedy act and a show which is presented as a news show.

IF it weren't presented as such and IF there weren't nutjobs out there using it as their primary news source and taking it seriously (I've run into pleanty of people who do unfortunately) I wouldn't mind it as much.
