The BDC approved Official Chavo Guerrero Appreciation thread.

For my money, Chavo is the best midcarder in WWE. He has a certain understanding of matches no one else has or demostrates. He is the only guy that I know of that changes his game plan and way he wrestles a match for certain stipulation. I mean if Chavo is going to wrestle an "I Quit" match against Rey, he automatically brings weapons and doesn't waste time with normal wrestling moves, instead all his offenese is turned up so it looks like he is beating the shit of out Rey. But if it is a normal match for like the cruiserwieght title against he wrestles like he wants to keep the title, but you can tell he doesn't really take anything personal.

Another thing I really do like about Chavo is that he talks through out his matches. I remember one match for the cruiserwieght title, I think he was fighting Spanky, I could be wrong. It was one of the cruiserwieght guantlet matches. Chavo comes down at the very end looking for the quick win. He doesn't get it, so he yells "Oh, so you are going to make me work?" And he is yelling this while kicking (lets just say it was) Spanky. The way he talks to his opponenets instead of the usual grunts and roaring from everyone else shows he is actaully thinking.

Personally, I would love to see Chavo work a series against Fit Finlay. And maybe after that, see Chavo go for some major gold. I don't know if chavo is world title material, but he hasn't really been given a chance to work with guys he hasn't worked with all his life that are midcarders or higher.

fuck him, kerwin white gimmick was gonna be awesome but ..someone died..

Rammsteinmad 09-08-2007 10:48 AM

100% agreed. I've been praising for Chavo for years and hoping he might some day be a main eventer (It could still happen, but it's unlikely).

I really thought his fued with Benoit would help get him up the card. Oh well... :(

My question is, why isn't he competing regularly or semi-regularly for the U.S. title? :?:

I agree absolutely. I've never been disappointed with any Chavo match.

I have never understood why he hasn't gotten above the cruiserwieght title for singles wrestling. Is it that he doesn't want to be above his current standing, or are they just holding him down. Smackdown is hurting for new upper midcarders and maineventer, why not let Chavo get up there. But then again, the faces on the level (on Smackdown) are Batista, Kane, Undertaker, and Rey. In WWE's eyes, small heels have no business being against guys the size of Bats, Kane, and 'Taker. Hell, even heels the size of Finlay are made to suck against Bats, Kane and 'Taker. Which leaves any pushes for Chavo to be against Rey, and it isn't like we haven't seen that a million times before.

But, all of them(with the exception of Rey IMHO) are upper midcard/main eventers. Plus, if(or should I say WHEN) Matt Hardy wins the U.S. belt off MVP, Chavo should be one of the challengers. At this stage in his career, he(Chavo) should be a legit mid-carder instead of always being in the Cruiserweight ranks and feuding with Rey.

Yeah, I agree Chavo should be fueding with someone like Matt Hardy. And in reality, Matt Hardy should just be used from here out to get heels over.

It really pisses me off when Chavo does a Frogsplash or the three amigos and Michael Cole would say its insulting the legend of Eddie Guerrero. Yet when Mysterio does it, it's out of respect or some bullshit like that.

I think he's the goods. I could buy him as someone of Finlay's stature. Give him lots of Smackdown main events but not any on PPV's for the most part.

Did Chavo start sucking or something? Why does BDC like him?

I have liked Chavo for years. Just because someone doesn't sucks, doesn't mean I can't like them.

He's not, and will never be, legit main event material. With that said, that doesn't exclude him from ever holding the WHT on Smackdown. I think he IS, however, a very solid mid-carder and a great addition to the US or IC title scene on either brand. He's also one of the only credible Cruiserweight champs of the past god-knows-how-long.

Kane Knight 09-08-2007 04:51 PM

Chavo's only shot at the Main Event was ruined when Rey rode Eddie's corpse to the top (culminatingin Eddie's second title run).
