Why does TNA hate Sting?

So on Thursday September 20, 2007 TNA starts with Nash talking to the Angles about how the fucked up by pissing Sting off. He reminds them of the old days TNa sr...I mean WCW of how the nWo pissed off Sting and their lives were a living hell afterward (glossing over the fact nWo creamed Sting in every match). Anyhow, Nash does a decent job of building up Sting as a mysterious badass that is not to be fucked with. So we see Karen go out and ask Sting to meet her in the ring so she can publically apologize.

So a few segments later, we see Karen Angle in the ring asking Sting to come out so she can apologize for slapping, funny bit up until Sting comes out. After you here Nash talk about Sting, you expect him to be walking the rafters or just appear and be silent, or possibly not appear but his voice is booming out across the arena. But no, he shows up like a normal person on the ramp. Then in a very conversational tone he askes if Karen read the letter. It turns out Sting got a restraining order against Karen Angle because she slapped him. That very second, Sting goes from "mysterious badass that is not to be fucked with" to pussy. (Also side note, this is wrestling, not real life. Only heels get restraining orders, faces are only allowed to seek revenge with their fistes, they cannot us the law ever.)

Then at the very end of the show they cut to the back where James Mitchell's new monster choking out Sting with so sort of string or shoe lace, I don't know. Now Sting has gone from pussy to pussy bitch. That is right in one show they manage to build Sting up, knock him down and then piss all over him. (Also side note, I know they are trying to build up Mitchell's new monster, but that is not the way to do it. New monsters need to come in a destory the old monster, then terrorize the undercard for a bit, then have matches against the upper card. Not come out and choke out someone that has nothing to do with their current program, especially if the person they are choking out is already if an involved program with a champion.)

Now I have never liked Sting, but he is an asset to someone like TNA, and they are booking him like a pussy bitch that is afriad of women and gets beaten up by football players and the new kids. Way to treat the icon.

It's because Sting needs a job and he won't work Mondays.

Pfffffffft, Sting would work tuesdays anyhow. All the supernatural gimmicks are on ECW and Smackdown.

FourFifty 09-21-2007 10:55 AM

I think Hornswoggle and The Undertaker might tell you differently.

Hornswoggle is just an irish midget. Undertaker is on Smackdown. Unless something just changed.

FourFifty 09-21-2007 10:59 AM

The 'Swog is a leprechaun, and we all know leprechaun have magical (or supernatural) powers. The Undertaker is a zombie pretty much. So not all the supernatural gimmicks are on ECW.

.......I'm just putting off getting ready for work today :|

I said ECW and Smackdown, learn the read. And the 'Swooge is no supernatural. Coming up from under the ring is not magic.

FourFifty 09-21-2007 11:04 AM

......somehow I missed the part about supernatural gimmicks on SmackDown....

Holy god, I need some coffee. No more posting before coffee for me....

1) I said he would be working Tuesdays. Both Smackdown and ECW are filmed Tuesdays (usually)

2) I said ECW and Smackdown as well.

3) You need coffee, and so do I.

The One 09-21-2007 11:27 AM

Yes, Sting has been horrifically used since he showed up. Between his whole "I'm not Sting, I'm Steve Borden" fiasco, to making him become some kind of mix between the surfer and crow versions of himself, to basically bitch jobbing him out everywhere...yeah he's a puss. And one that I don't think is in any way still a major drawing force in TNA. I think MOST are tunning in for Angle, Cage, and for some reason beyond understanding Soma Joe.

Basically what I'm getting at here is that TNA sucks when it comes to using their talent.

BigDaddyCool 09-21-2007 11:40 AM

Alls I'm saying is that sure this is a rehash, but it would be a step in the right direction. When Karen Angle came out to apologize, they should have just had Sting show up from the rafters, stare down at her, not say a word, then disappear. Then not see him for the rest of the show.

BigDaddyCool 09-21-2007 11:43 AM

Also, has Crow Sting ever had a program with Raven? They are almost taylor made for each other.

Nash is a very humble man. It's part of being the greatest.

Indifferent Clox 09-21-2007 12:33 PM

THE GREATEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

St. Jimmy 09-21-2007 12:39 PM

Sting on ECW would be kinda awesome.

WWE could do well with milk Sting as a legend. And I think they would treat him better than TNA would as well.

St. Jimmy 09-21-2007 12:47 PM

Plus there's still money on Sting vs. Taker after all these years.

You know, I would pay money to see Sting beat 'Taker at Wrestlemainia and end the streak. Might as well be Sting because 'Taker is never going put over new talent.

Stickman 09-21-2007 01:57 PM

Yeah, TNA is pretty terrible.

I'd love to see some group (I know there are no more factions, but COME ON) come down and try and overwhelm Taker, and Sting coming down to help, baseball bat in hand, only for Taker to BAM! Chokeslam him.

eazey 09-21-2007 01:58 PM

Yea I watched thinking they would at least hint at Sting becoming "The Crow" version again but saw him get a fucking restraining order on Karen Angle. Sting is like the company doormat and Jarrett is their messiah. Who saw this shit coming?

That would have been great in WCW, when both were in their prime.

Now with them outside of the prime it might be better. They would each try to play mind games with the other. Eventually Sting would be getting the upperhand in mind war because he knows physically he is in better shap than Raisin. Raisin also knows this, so he goes to his old standard, the flock, or the nest or whatever it is called now a days. They attack Sting. Sting beats them back with a baseball bat. This leads to a cage match.

What Would Kevin Do? 09-21-2007 03:41 PM

That's good in theory... It's just I can't imagine the actual payoff match would be any good. Unless you booked them both in managerial rolls, lettng them have their own little stables to do all the work. Then you could have it almost be like a game of chess between the two of them, and in the meantime elevate 6 or 8 guys at the same time.

I dunno... I wonder if you could have two guys feud without ever fighting each other... It'd be different.

Sephiroth 09-21-2007 03:44 PM

Sting should just go to the WWE, there he can find his new god/faith, Vince.

That could actually be quite a show, imo.

I can see Sting comin in, talking about his faith and how it made him overcome the odds :shifty: , Vince comes in all pissed and shit, telling Sting he doesn't like it when people "believe".

Vince makes a match, if Vince wins he will be Sting's God.

Nowhere Man 09-21-2007 03:47 PM

I know Sting and Raven tagged together for a show in TNA's early days (when Sting only showed up maybe once or twice a year), but no, I don't think they ever feuded. Which is a damn shame, because I've always thought that feud would have been money.

Yeah, make a match with Sting, HBK, and God v Vince, Shane and Vince's bas...wait, no it is the 'swoogle. Damnit Cince.

chrisat928 09-21-2007 04:24 PM

TNA is stepping over their own storylines. Ricky Banderas beating up Sting isbecause Sting is the one who broke James Mitchels control over Abyss. Course I could've sworn that storylines was over, now that Abyss is speaking for himself. Oh well.

How in the blue hell is Ricky Banderas the new "monster?" He's fucking shorter than Eric Young! I always thought monsters were supposed to be bigger that everyone else.

Loose Cannon 09-21-2007 05:04 PM

welcome to more TNA booking.

Ray Charles, and he's blind.

Not to mention dead.

I mean, why is anyone surprised by this?

br0ken 09-21-2007 11:20 PM

If I remember correctly, Sting never went to WWE because he found their subject matter too offensive and against his religious beliefs. Which is pretty damn funny, considering he stuck with WCW during the Russo years.

chrisat928 09-22-2007 03:52 AM

He was also on Best Damn a little while after WCW was bought, and they asked him why he didn't go to the WWE like everyone else, Sting said the travel mostly.

Impact comes to you from Orlando Florida, every other week. Sure, they travel for PPVs, and occasional house shows, but it's nothing at all like the WWE's schedule.

br0ken 09-22-2007 12:04 PM

oh

So do you think Sting say that to be nice about not going to wwe or do you think that is real reason why ?

I'm sure it's at least a reason. Wrestlers have been complaining about travel in wrestling almost forever.
