What should I buy with my Wii Points?

PS I already have ALTTP, Kirby Adventure, and punch out.

I have 2200 points.

I really want to buy Duke Nukem64 when it comes out is there a list of release dates?

Dorkchop 10-06-2007 10:26 PM

You don't know when certain games are going to be available. Sometimes you'll find out on a Thursday or Friday that a game will show up the next Monday though. Not often though. You can usually find out which games will show up eventually on the ESRB website. You'll just know that they're coming out at some point. I like that you don't know what'll show up every Monday.

I'd recommend Paper Mario, and Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2.

Savio 10-06-2007 10:41 PM

eh Not a fan of paper mario not in to the turn based things

road doggy dogg 10-06-2007 11:13 PM

I second the mention of Donkey Kong Country 2

Mister Sinister 10-06-2007 11:47 PM

Can't go wrong with DKC 1 or 2

Savio 10-06-2007 11:52 PM

really? I heard it was bad.

Lock Jaw 10-07-2007 12:19 AM

Whoever told you that is a liar... and a thief!

darkpower 10-07-2007 03:52 AM

I can recommend what I have downloaded, and besides LTTP, I have downloaded Metroid, Super Metroid (MUST HAVE), SimCity, Super Mario 64 (because I've wanted to try it), and Zelda II (you might enjoy it. the "dark horse" of the Zelda series because it's so different, but it's good).

Out of all of THOSE, why you haven't DLed Super Metroid is beyond me.

Ewwww Zelda 2

G 10-07-2007 11:40 AM

All DCKs are full of awesome.

Linkbowler 10-07-2007 12:04 PM

A 360.

Nah but seriously, DKC series was one of the best back in the day. I had alllll of them on the SNES.

Not a huge fan of the 3rd, personally. But DKC 2 is probably my 2nd favourite platformer ever, after Yoshi's Island.

The second one is awesome. It's kind of hard too, which is nice. If you like the original Donkey Kong Country, you'll like the second one.

Not surprised you said that. Alot of people frowned on it being so different. The side scrolling battles and more traditional RPG elements (well, traditional in terms of how we see RPGs now) was a turn off when we see how Zelda games are usually played.

I enjoyed it, though. The change of pace just meant you REALLY had to be good as a Zelda player. It was also the first Zelda game to introduce magic into the franchise.

I didn't like some of the cheap deaths you could experience in the game, though (I lost count of how many times I died because I was jumping from one part of a bridge to the second only to have one of those skeleton head things come out of the water at EXACTLY the right time to knock me into the water). The controls also have a bit of a steep learning curve. And Link on the overworld walks like a fucking penguin.

All that, though, and I enjoyed it because the good outweighed the bad for me.

Kane Knight 10-09-2007 01:57 PM

How did it mean you had to be good as a Zelda player? The mechanics were veru dissimilar to Zelda.

road doggy dogg 10-09-2007 03:03 PM

If you have a piece of the Triforce irl you will be good at Zelda 2, is what he was getting at.

weather vane 10-09-2007 03:09 PM

I loved Zelda 2.

D Mac 10-09-2007 03:21 PM

Ah. Now I see.

Savio 10-10-2007 05:00 PM

I bought MarioKart, and I don't have any internet for Wii at school yet.....Hopefully when I do they'll have DN64 out

G 10-11-2007 09:16 AM

yeah just hang on to them. i'm sitting on like 3200.

Y2Ant 10-11-2007 10:28 AM

I got loads of games, but the annoying thing is that Street Fighter II and Streets of Rage 2 are mad slow (as are others) and the XBL versions are far, far better. And they give me gamer points.

Oh well :$

darkpower 10-19-2007 03:53 AM

My (UPDATED) Wii list (all are pretty much good), including those I told you about before, to remind you, and those you have already (because I felt like it):
  • Metroid
  • Super Metroid
  • Super Mario 64
  • Legend Of Zelda: LTP (I know you have this already, but it's on my Wii, too)
  • Zelda 2
  • Legend Of Zelda: OoT
  • Kirby's Adventure (holy shit, Savior, you made a good choice in this one. Not sure HOW I passed this one up as a kid)
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (underrated. Sure, the controls are a bit whacked and it's hard as fuck, but I've beaten it several times)
  • DKC 1 and 2
  • SimCity

Savio 10-19-2007 05:40 PM

yeah when I played KA as a kid I was like wow this game is huge. Love dueling in it too.

Savio 11-21-2007 12:40 AM

Wrecking Crew sounds pretty fun have you guys played it? should I buy It?

Skippord 11-21-2007 02:53 AM

Has anyone mention super mario world yet? And Super Mario 3, those are must have's surely

G 11-21-2007 10:22 AM

Yeah SMB3 came out a few weeks ago, def a must buy. I go TMNT when it first came out, but have still yet to beat it. :( I can't even get into the technodrome. :'(

Savio 11-21-2007 10:41 AM

First TMNT is too hard

Dave Youell 11-21-2007 11:04 AM

They should bring out the arcade TMNT with the 4 player option. That would be great

Xero 11-21-2007 08:53 PM

Already have that on the 360. Pwn'd.

Seriously though, does Wii have any arcade versions of games? Or are they all Nintendo-system based?

St. Jimmy 11-21-2007 09:39 PM

BiiJay.

Currently it's all consoles, but they just brought out some Neo-Geo games, proper arcade games shouldn't be out of the question really.
