How much of WWE's profits come from Merch?
It'd probably be interesting to see. Terry's latest rant got me thinking. Rey and Cena are still around in part because they're merchandise movers, so I'm thinking it logically should be large, but WWE's never really seemed to be very logical.
|
probably a decent amount
|
At least 20 bucks.
|
Probably a sizable chunk of change, since they push Cena so hard despite massive booing.
|
They were at one time a billion dollar company.
|
Well back in 99 Road Dogg was making Royalty Cheques for $300,000 per quarter
I know it's not as hot now, but still, I would think alot |
Given that you have merchandise on sale in every toy shop in the UK and I assume the US, Canada and many other countries around the world, I would have thought it was a lot.

The Magic Number Is....*drummrolllllll*
17.57%, a little under 20 million. |

I would asume Cena makes the WWE about 25% of that at a guess. So I can see why they are pushing him |
In the last quarter (end Sept 30th) $19 million in 'consumer products', down from $21.7 million for the same period last year.
This compares to $68.6 million in 'televised and live entertainment', $7.7 million in 'digital media' and $12.8 million in films for that quarter. http://corporate.wwe.com/documents/3...essrelease.pdf |
So that's 19 mil per quarter!!!
Holy Shit Yeah Cena's set for life right now |

Of course, that's assuming the ballpark you pulled from your ass is remotely accurate, and assuming they care more about merchandise than actual TV revenue and the like (Which, to be fair, that half of the assumption is probably correct). |
That CNN showed stated that the WWE pulls in @ 100 million a year.
*dives back into the real world* |
IT's a bit more than that, yeah.
