Well Noid you wanted him back on TV...(Smackdown! Spoilers)

From PWInsider

Paul Birchall and Katie Lea debuted a new gimmick on Smackdown!, probably a vignette, as brother and sister with sexual tension...

Yes folks, Cruel Intentions/incest in the WWE!

darkpower 01-16-2008 05:30 PM

We already have gay cowboys.

Jura 01-16-2008 05:50 PM

Sounds dirty...I like it!

SammyG 01-16-2008 05:52 PM

lolllll

Londoner 01-16-2008 05:55 PM

ahahahahahaha

Xero 01-16-2008 05:55 PM

So where will Val figure into this? Paul's gay lover?

Heros Welcome 01-16-2008 06:09 PM

Burch is a great talent, I just dont get why they cant let him be his OVW character
"The Ripper"

Xero 01-16-2008 06:10 PM

Because it isn't flashy or offensive enough...

Mr. Nerfect 01-16-2008 06:18 PM

To be honest, the moment I saw this, and scrolled over the topic and it revealed Paul Burchill and Katie Lea debuted, I thought "Aristocrats."

My biggest complaint with this is that Katie Lea is on SmackDown!, away from the Women's Title. If I have learned one thing from Arrested Development, it's that incest can be somewhat be done with wit and intelligence. I doubt that is the WWE's plan, though.

Huzzah for Burchill being back, though. Honestly, did anyone really expect something better for the guy?

No way. Val will bang Katie, and Paul will be all "Stay away from my sister!"

Basically a remake of the Ken Shamrock/Val Venis stuff, only Ken wishes he got to bang Ryan. Of course, that was before Sean Waltman.

Hanso Amore 01-16-2008 06:34 PM

how.....horrible.

Vince has always been fan of incest (proposed storyline where he wanted to knock up steph)

KingofOldSchool 01-16-2008 06:35 PM

Paulie Beaver Cleavage

Skippord 01-16-2008 06:56 PM

I actually had a flash that this might be a test to see how well incest angles do, so he can reveal Hornswoggle is not really his son (the deal with Finlay), and that he said so only to cover up Triple H being his real illegitimate son.

Can you smell the ratings?

Mr. Nerfect 01-16-2008 07:36 PM

Honestly, though, they have some good intergender teams going on SmackDown!. The Burchill Sexlings (I bet they announce them from "Sussex, England" by the way), Kenny Dykstra & Victoria and the future pairing of Jamie Noble & Michelle McCool.

There could be some greatness between those folk.

The Lone Wolf 01-16-2008 07:40 PM

Burchill is an amazing wrestler too bad he will just turn into another joke.

Hell, I'm surprised they didn't repackage him as the crippler, and have him strangle people and leave Bibles in the ring.

Yeah, and it's funny, because I flushed several times.

Xero 01-16-2008 10:09 PM

Hell, rename him "Paul Birch-Kill" and make his gimmick that he would "kill" for a birch beer.

He could set up Klondike Bar-like settings where he would make people do stupid shit for birch beer, which they later find out they hate.

.44 Magdalene 01-17-2008 10:48 AM

I'm gonna fucking headbutt a dog in the ass over this.

TerranRich 01-17-2008 10:53 AM

Where the fuck is my Paul Burchill "O RLY?" avatar!?!?!?

YES!!! I love Birchall. I'm glad he'll be back, don't care what role he's playing. He could play a child molester on crack who simultaneous rapes and steals from old ladies and Mexicans, and I'd still mark out for him.

I give it two months before we replace the Katie Vick Incident with the Katie Lea Incident.

This is my new favorite gimmick. Of all time.

DAMN iNATOR 01-17-2008 04:39 PM

It’s really a shame Vince had to stoop this low with Burchill all because he didn’t understand how much like Captain Jack Sparrow, from Pirates of The Caribbean movie series, that Burchill was actually intended to be by the writers/creative team (if you dare call them that these days). Unfortunately, I sense his days could be even more numbered than with his pirate gimmick/feud with Regal on SD! They had something, maybe mediocre at best storyline wise with those 2, but still entertaining as fuck between Burchill/Regal. I give Burchill a month or 2 max.

Dunno bout the caption, you could probably edit it in easily with Photoshop though, but a pirate Paul pic here anyway (minus the caption)

Pirate Paul Burchill was greatness. Vince McMahon was an IDIOT for not even realizing the Jack Sparrow connection. IDIOT.

And, no, my Paul Burchill was a rare WWE photo of him, and it even looked like he was going "oh" to match the "o rly" title.

I'm betting it's more that he didn't want to admit to the plagiarism.

Xero 01-17-2008 05:34 PM

Maybe if they had described him as Capitan Hook Vince may have gotten the reference.

Honestly?

How much do you wanna bet they aren't calling him the ripper, because it sounds too much like crippler? I will bet my house on it.

TerranRich 01-18-2008 11:45 AM

Vince: You know, "Pirate" connotates sailing the seven seas, pillaging, and raping. Chris Benoit didn't rape, but it was still a crime, so the connection is too close for comfort. Pull the gimmick and let's use incest instead. It'll offend WAY less people.

Blitz 01-18-2008 11:58 AM

Oh for fuck's sake.

The Optimist 01-18-2008 05:51 PM

It's sometimes nice that WWE let's things be forgotten. Hopefully, when this fails he'll just be back in a year with a different angle. Maybe one without incest.

Woah woah woah...Let's not blame the incest....

:shifty:

Volare 01-19-2008 06:28 PM

Nope, blame Steph for not trying this idea already. If she would've went along with the angle, then Burchill could've had somethin else....or on the flip side, no job at all.
