Best Match...
In your opinion, what is the best match you saw that was not on a PPV?
This could be Raw, ECW, Smackdown, Impact, Nitro, Thunder...etc Mine is the Gold Rush Tournament Match between HBK and Shelton Benjamin the night after Backlash 2005 |
TLC III
|
I don't know, considering I have seen pretty much everything its too difficult to just pick one.
|
When I first saw the question I thought of TLC 4 from Raw Roulette. But with more thought, I might think of another one.
|
Probably something with Boogen, tbh.
|
Ummm recently...
Hardy v Umanja in the cage was great M&MII v Gay Wangs have been great anything with Colin McJobber(my new favorite segment on all of wrestling) obviously Benjamin v Michaels Punk v morrison just a few |
Punk vs. Morrison when Punk finally won the belt was an awesome match :y:
|
Bret Hart vs. Chris Benoit - Owen Hart Memorial - Nitro
I mean, come on. |
I thought the Lesnar vs. Angle ironman match on SD! was pretty good along with Eddie vs. RVD in the ladder match, Benjamin vs. Michaels and the TLC
|
I will compile a list. And make a .rar upload it and then post it here, see you in a few years guys!
|
Hardy vs RVD European/Intercontinental Title Unification Ladder Match
|
First thing that came to mind was TLC 4. Punk Morrison when punk won the belt was very good, as well as HBK Shelton.
|
Welcome new people.
|
HBK Shelton is a definite
And Heros Welcome, if you're an ROH fan you are awesome in my book. |
Benoit/Hart
Angle/Lesnar Iron Man Benoit/Lesnar (the one on Smackdown where Benoit passed out) |
i know its too obvious to most, but my fave match is Undertaker vs MAnkind in the Hell in a cell, where Mankind got hiffed off the top of the cell right onto the announcers table, then got up, climbed the cage again, only to get thrown through the cell and have a chair dong him in the face and split his lip open. To see a man take a beating like that and get up, it sent chills down my spine
|
In short...KotR 98 in Pittsburgh
|
|
Mine has to be Ric Flair vs Mr Perfect, Loser Leaves The WWF, January 1993.
I will never understand why they didn't hold off on that one until WrestleMania IX. |
There have been some cracking matches on free TV over the years to be fair.
Another standout one is Bret Hart vs 123 Kid on Raw, around mid 1994. Also: Hollywood Hogan vs Goldberg (the crowd made it). Steve Austin vs Chris Benoit on Raw around 2001. The Undertaker vs Jeff Hardy ladder match in 2002 was at that time Undertaker's only really good match since 1998. Taka Michinoku vs Christopher Daniels on Shotgun in 1998 is a forgotten (or rather, unnoticed) classic. Credit where it's due to Shawn Michaels and John Cena for their overrated yet still very good hour long match on Raw last year. Triple H vs Chris Jericho, a couple of great matches with these two on Raw in 2000. Rey Misterio Jr vs Dean Malenko... several great matches between these two on Nitro in 1996. |
Also, the Hardcore title was contested in some great brawls on TV in late 1998/early 1999 until they turned the belt into a joke. Hard to believe, but the early incarnation of the Hardcore division was home to some intense, physical, heated brawls... rather than the clusterfuck gimmicked playing field of the glorified jobbers it later became.

Benoit vs HHH- Ironman match, week after the 2004 draft.
The Rock vs Hurricane-Raw The Rock & Undertaker vs Dudleys- Tables match on smackdown. Eddie Guerrero vs JBL for the wwe title inside a 15 ft. steel cage- smackdown. Brock vs Big Show- smackdown. |
Hell in a Cell I: Shawn Micheals (European Champion) vs. The Undertaker
Badd Blood 1997 |

Looks like I am awesome then |

Also, Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker for the World Title on Smackdown. I believe Angle barely won with a Triangle choke.

The first one was in 02 where it was a draw. Taker tapped to a triangle choke but Angle was pinned. Then, they also had another great match, sometime in 2003 I think, when Lesnar came down and caused a DQ or something. Both were awesome though |
