TNA Considering a Change in Direction

- TNA will release a DVD on their recent Global Impact special. The project will feature all six matches between TNA and New Japan talent at the Tokyo Dome. It will also show footage of TNA stars in Japan as well as an interview with Jeff Jarrett.

- Speaking of the TNA Global Impact special, Mike Johnson of the Professional Wrestling Insider is reporting that there has been talk of moving the direction of booking in the company towards something more serious that focuses on the competition and athletic personalities of their talent.</strong>


Well I'm learning to never believe something till I see it, but it could be a turn in the right direction if TNA Heads are really considering it.

So basically they wanna go back to what they were doing when they were watchable?

Well from my knowledge of TNA, they've always had the stupid shit going on...it just really started to get out of hand when Kurt came in.

However, focusing on competition and using storylines as feud builders rather than show filler could really get me to turn in Thursday Nights.

Until they get rid of that retarded ring, I don't care.

Meh it's not that bad, just different.

If I had any complaint about the ring, it would be that it could be a bit bigger.

And to think, we thought with Angle going there that WRESTLING would be the main vocal point of the show. Having epic matches with Styles, Cage, Joe, Sabin, and a dream match with Sting. We got some good matches, and for there biggest show of the year Sting v. Angle is based on Angle beating up Stings son at a Football game...:nono:

I was really, more or less, hoping that this was related to his just coming out of the coma and that he was gonna do a different ripoff every week.

This is just horrible.

Hopefully, they make it a positive change. With TNA, though, I doubt it.

See, if they did that they wouldn't have been able to give everyone on the roster an Attitude Era gimmick.

This would be a good change. Granted, you'd still have regular iMpact! being shit, but ratings have gone up for TNA's Knockout Division segments, so I'm hoping that an actual wrestling show would get good ratings, and let Dixie Carter know that they can do better than what they are.

By the way, I also heard rumours that Spike TV is looking to give the Knockouts their own program.

Global Impact was amazing. it made TNA seem far more legit. They could get over as an lternate to the shitty WWE stories, instead they make them even worse.

Sharkboy is horrible. To copy SCSA is one thing, but to have the Shark family, with the fake doctors, and banages on his fins and crap is so cartoonish.

They are not moving direction while Vince Russo and Dutch Mantell have power.

They better because they're going nowhere but down.

I honestly don't think, if they were bought by WWE today, anything would even come of it. They'd probably sign less than a dozen of their wrestlers, take the tape library and never mention it in kayfabe or programming. Maybe not even on the site.

Knowing TNA, they'll probably make this 'Change of Direction' idea into a Match.

If Kurt Angle can climb the Flaming Scaffold of Doom and retrieve the 'hidden suitcase of new ideas and gimmicks' before the team of Scott Hall and Karen Angel then it's a GO!

I liked the global impact show they did...I wouldnt mind seeing stuff like that week to week...

The whole "change of direction" will end up being a SWURVE by Vince Russo just to mess with the IWC.

You thought I was going to say Scott Hall, but I've SWERVED you: Karen Angle would win after Scott Hall no-shows, but TNA is so desperate to stick to the crap.

I don't know, Jeritron. As much as I'd like to agree with you, TNA is getting its highest ratings ever, and are making the move to live television, apparently. They should be doing so much better, and churning out a much better product, but I don't think they're going down in flames.

Also, if the WWE bought out TNA, the following people would probably end up with WWE contracts:

The damage done after the first Bound For Glory have proven time and time again to be unrepairable for the war machine. They've been trying and he's stood the course of having no real direction other than a monster.

Rhino is one of those guys that I just like, and want to see succeed. Paul Heyman sensed something in him, and during the Alliance angle, he got over like fucking rover.

Rhino's prime may have come and gone, but there is no reason why he cannot be given direction for a change, as that seems to be when Rhino works best.
