Nathan Jones, remember him?

- Former WWE wrestler Nathan Jones is in talks with WWE officials about a possible return to the company. Jones started with WWE back in 2003 and was in line for a huge push. After management soured on his horrible in-ring work, he was taken off television for months and was eventually sent to OVW to work on his skills. He was brought back to the main roster later in the year and quit the company a month later for a number of reasosn. Since leaving WWE in 2003, he's only worked a handful of wrestling matches, instead choosing to concentrate on his acting career. Jones worked with WWE Films in 2006, with a small role in Stone Cold Steve Austin's movie The Condemned.
Yay?

DAMN iNATOR 02-04-2008 11:49 AM

Isn’t he the guy they billed as “The Colossus of Boggo Road”, and they taped segments inside empty arenas where Undertaker would try to show him how to be tougher and like improve his skills and moveset and that?

Jordan 02-04-2008 11:50 AM

Oh well. I guess he could just squash ECW for a few month before being jobbed to The Undertaker again.

BigDaddyCool 02-04-2008 12:02 PM

I recall him. Brad Pitt killed him in Troy, and Jett Li beat his ass in Fearless or something.

Yeah.

He was basically a larger version of Cody Rhodes.

He wasn't terrible, but I can't see myself caring.

Whenever I hear Nathan Jones I think of Mania 19 when he is beat down by Albert and Show. When they zoom in on him, he has the cushioned part of the chair on his back..always gets a laugh from me.

Nathan Jones was such a horrible wrestler, they had to remove him from the booked Undertaker & Nathan Jones vs. A-Train & Big Show match at WrestleMania XIX, instead making it a handicap match with him running in as interference.

So no, I do not want to see this lumbering oaf return to the WWE. He's just going to be CENA FODDER.

The Optimist 02-04-2008 02:20 PM

Looks like a solid huge guy. Like a less distinct Tomko. You could pair him with Snitsky for a nice monster tag team.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS

I was always a Nathan Jones mark, regardless of his talent. Dude should be in the dictionary as the definition for "The Look".

Londoner 02-04-2008 04:11 PM

Wonder if hes improved since then, i remember him being complete shit.

Hanso Amore 02-04-2008 05:03 PM

You cant teach someone to be that fucking big. You can tach them wrestling.

We need a new monster that is actually a monster. Khali has run his course.

Chavo Classic 02-04-2008 05:11 PM

Nathan Jones.

Those very words makes Owen Hart turn in his grave

Unless you look at how much they botch. Then the difference becomes significantly smaller.

You know he used to be Rene Rivkin's bodyguard here in Australia.

Xerzes 02-05-2008 12:00 AM

Didn't that fuck-up injure Brad Pitt while they were shooting Troy?

Dorkchop 02-05-2008 12:55 AM

Nathan Jones sucked. I'm surprised, but glad, that WWE realized that he sucked and released him rather than shove him down our throats like usual. I bet if he debuted 2 years later he would have had the Mark Henry, Big Daddy V, John Cena, Khali, Heidenreich, and Chris Masters push.

A member of Team Lesnar, damn what an impressive looking team.

Impeccable 02-05-2008 02:39 AM

Has someone got that animated gif of him doing a spinning kick and falling on his ass?

If this is true I now love Nathan Jones

Blitz 02-05-2008 04:15 AM

No GIF, but here's the video of the spin kick.

Rammsteinmad 02-05-2008 06:20 AM

Being a part of Team Lesnar at Survivor Series 2003 was the best thing he did. That was a beast of a team, and the opposition was equally as impressive... except Hardcore Holly

Anybody Thrilla 02-05-2008 09:48 PM

Didn't he fall on a spin kick at XIX too?
