The Weather Channel is calling for thundershowers in Orlando Sunday...

I'd laugh if there were high winds during MITB and the briefcase falls down to the mat.

SCRAMBLE FOR THE BRIEFCASE!

or

Heavy rains flood the Citrus Bowl and Taker comes out on a motor boat.

DaVe 03-28-2008 08:31 PM

Wrestling in the rain in front of 60-70,000 people sounds good.

Afterlife 03-28-2008 08:47 PM

If it happens, they deserve it.

Kane Knight 03-28-2008 08:58 PM

Lightning strikes the ring in the Cena/Orton/Trips match.

Lock Jaw 03-28-2008 09:03 PM

Lightning will strike Cena and he'll shrug it off.

I dunno if even interference from God can save that match.

Depends on how specific that contract with Satan is.

Afterlife 03-28-2008 09:55 PM

I thought HBK was retiring him.

RVDmark 03-28-2008 10:10 PM

Real thunder and lightning during Takers full entrance with the druids would be cool. Especially if the first thunder clap coincides with the *gong*.

TerranRich 03-28-2008 11:30 PM

Considering they're adding a TARP above a large part of the arena, I doubt rain will make a difference.

Wind, however... now I can just see the MITB match..

JR: And now we have all 7 men on ladders, reaching for that brief—
[Wind takes the briefcase and it falls off to the side in the ring]
[Long pause]
[Everybody jumps off the ladders and trips over each other to grab it]

Hah, I'd love to see weather finally fuck with the scripted plans for the event, let alone at WrestleMania. :D

DRBailey 03-28-2008 11:44 PM

If Lightning strikes and hits Vince Mcmahon, is that classed as 'shooting' on VKM for jobbing him out the other year?

TerranRich 03-29-2008 12:36 AM

Only if it's kayfabe lightning.

God strikes back.

FourFifty 03-29-2008 01:17 AM

If it's an open arena how are they going to do the MITB?

Fox 03-29-2008 02:13 AM

It was supposed to rain today (friday) and it didn't, so we'll see about tomorrow and sunday...

KayfabeMan 03-29-2008 02:31 AM

The tarp thing covers the ring and that area, but are 70,000 people really going to sit in the rain if it pours and watch the show? Just curious, as I've never seen that for a pro-wrestling event before, and notice that people run for cover at a lot of the pro-sporting events.

DaVe 03-29-2008 03:52 AM

Question: Will WWE be ready if it rains at WM XXIV?

Answer: "Absolutely. A top is being erected over the ring that, as I understand it, will actually cover the first couple of rows of ringside. However, I believe 'Mother Nature' is a WWE fan, and she will cut us all a break come Sunday night."

Answer being from JR.

Anyway I doubt everyone will stay, but since it is Wrestlemania I don't think much more than 5,000 (although that is a huge amount) will run for cover unless it gets ridiculously heavy.

Rob 03-29-2008 05:30 AM

I'd love to see it rain but I don't think it will happen.

Afterlife 03-29-2008 09:46 AM

I dreaded rain since the day they said "An open arena" after LAST year's WrestleMania. Believe me, I hope it doesn't. But therein lies the difference between "hope" and "expect".

Loose Cannon 03-29-2008 10:15 AM

that would be awesome.

Fox 03-29-2008 10:19 AM

Pick your first open-arena'd WrestleMania since WM 9, and it had to be some place like Orlando where it fucking rains on a dime.

Oh well. It'd be fucking sweet if people closer to the front abandon their seats when it starts to rain. You know Fox will be moving up some rows if that is the case.

Afterlife 03-29-2008 10:22 AM

I do see a great new company slogan after the deluge at 'Mania:

"WWE: It gets you wet."

Testicle 03-29-2008 10:24 AM

It was wrestlemania 9, not that it matters.

Fox 03-29-2008 10:27 AM

It was shit, either way. All I remember is Bret Hart jobbing to Yokozuna, and then Yokozuna quickly jobbing out to Hulk Hogan.

And WWE repackages Cena as Jaws Shamu...

"You can't echolocate me!"

Sign of the Apocalypse: John Cena no-sells the wrath of God.
