What's the deal with this match

Everyone seems confused, there's barely any commentary as well.

Ah Sting issues a challenge, Goldberg accepts. Goldberg wins gets the title but the next night it's voided because the match wasn't sanctioned. OK

There's one thing I don't understand though...everything.

Vince Russo - That's the only thing you need to know about WCW starting in 1999.

Unfortunately, no one understands him so no one understands late-WCW.

I hated that match. Still do.

Remember that they did that stupid Sting/Hogan angle earlier in the night as well.

From a Russo mindframe, he probably figured that they needed something to "go home happy" to, and something to draw fans to Nitro the next night (since Hogan wouldn't be there to continue the feud with Sting), so they had Goldberg beat Sting at the end of the night and reversed it the next night.

And this is the man who is currently writing TNA Impact.

That sounds like complete horse shit. I would be so pissed off if I was a fan that watched at that time.

There was a lot of good in WCW, when you look back over the mid-card, but a lot of their main event stuff was so shitty. How they could fuck up Hogan vs. Sting from Starrcade '97 is something that just boggles the mind.

If you hated that much, you can't imagine the hate I have for the 32 "man" tournament that followed it.
