No, to Al's credit, he has shown different characters in movies. In the Godfather he is a smart rational gangester, while in Scarface he is a crazy irrational thug. But I still never liked him. Any new movie that comes out with him in it (all of which he is the main star) I pass up.

Pacino's early stuff was fantastic, particularly Dog Day Afternoon and of course The Godfather. But since he's gotten older, he has fallen into a rut of doing pretty much the same routine over and over. It feels less like he's acting and more like he's doing an Al Pacino impression.

And Pacino is incredible in all of them. I fucking love him, he is so "fun" to watch, as gay as that may sound. Like just watching his performance entertains the hell out of me. He acts kinda over the top but that is what I love about him. And he always completely flips out in at least one scene in every movie he is in. That is my fav shit. |
