They are changing over the ring now for SmackDown. Michael Cole and Coachman are coming to ring side to start of the show.

SmackDown kicks off with replays of the Edge and Undertaker feud.

SmackDown Opener:

The show opens with Edge, Vickie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, and Bam Neeley. Vickie makes Undertaker vs. Batista a no DQ match. CM Punk comes out. Edge challenged CM Punk for tonight on Smackdown.

They show clips of Finlay and Hornswoggle from the King of the Ring tournament on Raw last night.

John Morrison w/The Miz b. Shannon Moore

Natalya Neidhart w/Victoria b. Cherry w/Kelly Kelly with a sharpshooter.

Matt Hardy comes out for an interview. Michael Cole gets involved. Hardy says that his knee is 100% and he is ready to go Sunday against MVP. United States Champion MVP comes out. Hardy says MVP screwed him, MVP says Hardy is jealous. Hardy says he is certain that he will win on Sunday, MVP hits him with the US Title belt and leaves.

Edge b. CM Punk
This was described to me as a very good match. Lots of nears falls throughout, our correspondent says Punk ends up hitting Go to Sleep but Edge falls to the outside. Punk goes to get him and Zack Ryder gets involved. Edge ends up hitting the spear for the win.

Vladimir Kozlov b ????

The Undertaker b. Batista
They give this some time. Undertaker dominates early and the action eventually spills to the outside. On the outside, Undertaker throws Batista into the ring stairs. Undertaker gives a leg drop to Batista off the apron. Both try finishers but miss. Undertaker ends up hitting a chokeslam for a two count. Batista a spear for a two count. Undertaker puts the steps in the ring. Undertaker goes for the Tombstone but Batista counters with a spear. Batista goes for the Batista Bomb but Shawn Michaels comes out. He gives him a superkick. Undertaker ends up getting the win.

The MITB briefcase may or may not have been on the line in the Punk/Edge match as there are conflicting reports.

Edge with the briefcase, that is new.

Justin Roberts probably would have announced if it were for the briefcase. Plus, it doesn't make too much sense if they have Edge challenging for the title with a briefcase shot in his corner. Unless they are planning something crazy for Backlash.

Seems like a decent show. Vladimir Kozlov needs to go, however. Replace his segments with a Shelton Benjamin/Finlay match, or something. I wish Michael Cole and Matt Striker were doing commentary, too.

A different set of spoilers I read reported that John Morrison vs. Shannon Moore was actually The Miz vs. Shannon Moore, with Moore rolling up The Miz for the win, which would make more sense given what happened on ECW.

A writer from PWTorch who was at the show confirmed that it wasn't for the briefcase and that Punk was just bragging about him having the briefcase to set up the match.

Plus he said that the two main events were PPV quality.

Just saw smackdown, the taker/batista match was great.

I've been noticing a lot of errors in the Smackdown spoilers in the past several weeks. It was The Miz vs Shannon Moore and not John Morrison. Michelle McCool was with Cherry not Kelly Kelly. And no one does the Sharpshooter correctly anymore :(.
