Best description of Soma Joe ever...
From this page referring to terrible video game box art: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager....=2&cId=3167717
http://www.1up.com/media?id=3540993&type=lg "Fat guy who looks like he just kind of randomly wandered into the shot on his way from the sauna" lol |
Funny thing is, Joe would kick your ass.
|
Noid, you just don't get it do you?
|
I really don't. I mean, the "Soma Joe" name is crappy, the man is a good wrestler, with interesting ring presence that captures the imaginations of quite a lot of the people who watch him.
I really don't understand the hate. Is it because so many within the IWC like him? |
If I have to explain it, it won't be funny noid.
|
I really don't see a joke in there, anyway.
|
Of course, the thread starter is Xero, so that's to be expected.
|
You know, I don't see anywhere in my post detracting his in-ring work.
Or even hate for him, really. |
Would it have been better if I made a 20 paragraph post explaining how he should be used in TNA and eventually turn it around to have him job to or team with a bunch of jobbers?
Sharkboy and Samoa Joe, next big thing! |
The fact that he looks like a fat guy who wandered in from the sauna, and then proceeds to beat the shit out of someone is part of why he's awesome.
|
See though, Noid didn't get the connection that that's what he looks like there.
Now he's going to reply and say he did, but didn't find it funny, when he didn't realize it until now. And NOW he's going to respond and say I'm "not funny" and go on a 3-5 paragraph post explain exactly WHY I'm not funny and explain how he "knows comedy" because he's a "stand up comedian". Maybe he'll throw in that I'm just "playing a gimmick" that goes against anything in the IWC or entertainment in general and not understand that other people like other things and that if HE and a hundred other people say, for example, Santino is a "subtle comedic genius", that it's the God-given truth and the majority. Maybe he'll explain how if the general population likes things it's called "popular" and that I'm not "in the majority". Of course he'll have to throw in how I'm just an asshole who "has to get it my way" and try to turn every point I said here against me, whether he actually believes it or not. Now he'll just post exactly what I wrote here except change the wording to sound like he didn't. Or he'll just post something to the effect of "you're pretty much spot-on". Perhapse he'll even point out my grannatical erors. |
Honestly Kurt Angle looks way more ridiculous than Soma Joe on that cover...Look at his face! He looks like an angry kid with Down Syndrome.
And Sting looks like he's yawning...Leave it to TNA to make the worst video game cover ever. |

Yeh it could be that too, I could see it
|
All the personal attacks are getting pretty boring.
|
And what the hell is going on in the background? AJ Styles elbow dropping a standing Booker T?
|
I mean, you can't really argue that he DOESN'T look like a random fat guy who wandered out of the sauna into the ring.
Doesn't take anything away from him. Like some said, it may even make him that much more awesome. Preference really, but you gotta recognize that descrip as fact |

Noid Rage. |
I think Kurt actually shit himself just before the photo was taken. Stings just yelling out about it, and Joe just looks pissed off that it splattered on him.
|
Samoan Chris Penn
|
Why isn't Christian on the front of the box?

Knowing TNA he'll be a character you unlock only after you've beaten the game 55 times with Shark Boy
|
just lol.
Look at the last game: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager....=5&cId=3158260 WTF. That must be just, well, omfg. shit. |

That has to be the most perfect breakdown of Noid I've ever seen. :D |

I'm not a big fan of anything TNA does, really. Hardcore respect for most of their roster, but it's not booked to look like money. If WWE can push Randy "Resthold" Orton with his botched Diamond Cutter to main event status then it's possible for TNA to look good.... they just need to figure out how to do it.

Flip over to TNA, and they can't do that. They've got some legit stars they could use, but they're few and far between compared to the WWE castoffs. Part of the way you get guys over in pro wrestling (At least the mainstream stuff) is by having them work with guys who are already established. No matter how good you are, it's hard to become a household name otherwise. Not to mention the fact that every time I tune in to TNA, someone's speaking that really shouldn't. They need to focus on mic skills a lot more or something. Workrate's great when you're trying to pack gymansiums and shit, but if you've got a TV deal, you might want to try something a little extra. |

Orton > Joe
Watching paint dry > Orton Watching a normal fattie try to lose weight by sitting their ass in a hot room > Watching paint dry So by my estimation, Joe isn't even as entertaining as the normal fat ass sitting in a sauna. |

A-Train moves just as well as he does, if not better...and he's both bigger and hairier. Added bonus, some bitchin' tattoos and piercings.
A-TRAIN FOR IWC GOD 2008! |

I like Samoa Joe, I've always liked his in ring work and I think his promos, when he plays the confident role not the so intense he looks like he's going to pop a blood vessel, are really good.
That all bring said that description was kinda my first reaction to seeing him, that was before he started wrestling then I surprised and enjoyed myself. Then again I like workers who are stiff as hell like Low Ki. Anyway, though I like Joe and find his matches very entertaining, I can see why some would dislike him. I don't agree but I can see why others think he's boring. |

I miss the A-Train in the WWE. Was one of my favorites :( |
Why? He wasn't really a furry...
|

There is a reason why, when Mick Foley recommended both CM Punk and Soma Joe to WWE, they only signed Punk. |
