Mega Man 9 confirmed for WiiWare

And it will look like the NES ones.

This is actually really cool.

It'll also be on the PS3 and 360, I believe.

Destor 06-26-2008 03:23 PM

Awesome

Destor 06-26-2008 03:24 PM

Best. News. Ever.

Xero 06-26-2008 03:34 PM

Nice.

U-Warrior 06-26-2008 08:49 PM

I just ejaculated.

weather vane 06-26-2008 09:27 PM

I also just ejaculated but it had nothing to do with Mega Man.

It had to do with lasagna.

OssMan 06-27-2008 03:09 AM

Wow...incredible news

Loose Cannon 06-27-2008 11:41 AM

woah, sweet. I hope it's easy like the first 4. After that I had one hell of a time beating anything

Sepholio 06-28-2008 01:39 AM

This makes me happy as I have the originals of all the megaman series as well as the X series. Yea, total megaman nerd right here. ROCK MAN FTW. Any news on a potential release date?

road doggy dogg 06-28-2008 04:04 PM

- There are doors marked Dr. L (Dr. Light) before each boss. This goes with Dr. Wily accusing Dr. Light of creating the evil robot masters
- Galaxy Man: use portals to travel through the level, enemies that split and multiply
- Plug Man: “disappearing block” puzzles
- Hornet Man: lots of bees
- Jewel Man: stand on swings and use momentum to make jumps
- Magma Man: lava, lava, lava
- Concrete Man: reminiscent of Guts Man
- Tornado Man: spinning platforms, mid-air leaps
- Splash Woman: Inafune designed this Robot Master, level features bubble puzzle reminiscent of Megan Man 5
- Dr. Light’s shop is included
- items to purchase: energy balancer, spike shoes, armor
- play as Mega Man without his helmet, if you want to
- Select screen and Menu screen feature music directly from Mega Man 2
- Select screen features options that are not allowed to be discussed until E3
- charged mega-buster and sliding not in the game, at this point. It is unclear if they will be in the final version.
- Rush Coil confirmed
- more to look forward to than the ‘regular game’. Menu screen holds other game options
I got that from: http://gonintendo.com/?p=48339

I am super excited for this!

Loose Cannon 07-03-2008 02:52 PM

fucking sweet. there's no other ROMS I've DL'ed more then Mega Man. How much do these WII Wares cost?

Dorkchop 07-03-2008 03:26 PM

It depends. Games have been as low as $5 (500 points) to as high as $15 (1500 points). The 1500 point game is coming out this Monday, but I don't know anything about it other than it's some sort of puzzle game that was going to have bongo support.

Loose Cannon 07-03-2008 03:30 PM

k, I may have to read about it because I have no clue what you just said there. lol. so you play games to get points and bongo suppots you?

The Donkey Konga bongos? Awesome.

This shouldn't cost more than 500 points, really, seeing as it's basically a map pack for the NES version.

Oh snaps! First footage:

Kalyx triaD 07-10-2008 02:00 PM

This is actually built as an NES game, making it like... a new NES game. That's trippy.

Pegasus Crawford 07-11-2008 12:22 AM

Sexy Trailer.

Looks like it's coming to XBox Live and PSN after all!

U-Warrior 07-11-2008 01:06 AM

Well, thats yet another pair of pants headed to the laundry.

Xero 07-11-2008 02:04 AM

I seriously hope this brings about a surge of NES-style games and sequels.

And how epic would it be if they actually released a collector edition NES cart? I know it wouldn't happen (probably wouldn't even fit on an NES cart), but holy shit...

OssMan 07-11-2008 04:07 AM

actually the NES cart has a ton of free space on it, the whole top half is not in use and it was only built that way to fit the design of the NES. i'm sure they could do some crazy thing to add more memory. just saying.

Savio 09-02-2008 12:55 PM

when is this due out next week?

ClockShot 09-19-2008 09:43 PM

Game is finally dated for release next week. It's gonna be $10 and hit all the consoles. Wii and PS3 will get it the same week, 360 is gonna have to wait an extra week.

Wii - 9/22
PS3 - 9/25
360 - 10/1

Dorkchop 09-19-2008 09:54 PM

Protoman will be dowloadable for $200 points in early October.

Not exactly an actual cartridge, but close enough:

OMFG A PRESS KIT

We then started to think, well why not? Why don't we recreate an old NES package complete with a real NES cartridge? So, here it is. What do you think?

Unfortunately, we weren't able to put the full game on these cartridges (the licensing and legal issues were a headache and not worth the trouble), but I agree, it would've been cool. Instead, these carts contain a small CD with artwork, game information and screenshots.

Anyway, we're sending these bad boys out this week to our friends from the press. Don't worry, we're thinking about offering a very limited quantity (200) on the Capcom Store, probably with a PSN or XBLA game voucher.

U-Warrior 09-21-2008 01:36 AM

More pumped for this than I was for Rock Band 2 or Force Unleashed.

Ugh, broke down and bought it for WiiWare.

Maybe I'm too rusty at platformers, but every attempt at a stage yielded a game over for me. :( 1 hour with the game and I've only beaten Splash Woman.

OssMan 09-22-2008 08:57 PM

definitely going after Splashwo Man first, that junks dum. this games soposto take up the difficulty of where the NES ones left off, so that means it should be pretty freaking hard

UmbrellaCorporation 09-22-2008 09:39 PM

FUCK YOU CONCRETE MAN

U-Warrior 09-22-2008 09:55 PM

K, so they weren't fucking around when they made this. This game is hard. Was able to beat galaxy man tho.

Lovin it so far. Every level has a couple neat gimmicks, and the enemies are pretty cool too.

Got speed metal by accident. lol.

I will be playing this on Wii because it is Mega Man and Mega Man is a Nintendo game and I don't need achievements to be in a game

BigDaddyCool 09-22-2008 10:48 PM
