Wow looks awesome!

Didn't know Christian Bale was gonna be in this. As if he wasn't big enough, this should get his name over huge!

Looks promising, and I'm a huge fan of the trilogy (even the third one), though I hope this isn't all CGI nonsense that looks fake.

Definitely excited about this though. :D

D Mac 07-17-2008 05:58 AM

No Nick Stahl? :shifty:

ClockShot 07-17-2008 07:48 AM

Also starring Moon "I can't hold a television show and have made some lousy movies lately, but I'm very hot" Bloodgood.

But McG is directing. Kinda worries me right now.

Jeritron 07-17-2008 03:04 PM

Am I the only one who doesn't think it looks good? Not to say it won't be, but theres nothing that looks good about that trailer. I think people are just buying that it will be good because Christian Bale is in it, but whats that matter? Great actors who pick great roles can and are in stinkers.

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2008 03:16 PM

Christian Bale's involvment makes no difference to me. Just ask before making conclusions, I'll tell you... really.

This movie takes place in a very improtant time in the mythology, so I'm there.

I'm in the middle about it. It's an interesting idea though. I mean every Friday the 13th movie is Jason stalking people, Home Alone is a kid setting traps for bad guys, Rocky is Rocky boxing some guys, Indiana Jones is Indy searching for an artifact, etc. Terminators 1-3 are basically action/chase movies, and now this new trilogy is the war. Has that been done before, where a franchise just switches its formula like that?

Synopsis 07-17-2008 04:31 PM

Is Swchartenigga in this?

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2008 04:47 PM

Let's say no. The T-800 series came later in the canon that this movie takes place in. Still, the explanation of the T-800 design was explained like three different times (my favorite being that it was made to look like a resistance fighter). So we could get a cameo by Arny as a human, which would be an interesting first for him in the series (yeah, I'm writing off that funny yet humiliating extra in T3).

Fox 07-17-2008 05:21 PM

Christian will carry it. I saw an interview he did about his role as John Connor and he seems really excited about it and into what they're doing with the new movie.

Jon Kano 07-17-2008 05:43 PM

Of course he does, he prob got paid like $180m to star in it

Jura 07-17-2008 05:53 PM

Well that trailer is a teaser trailer with emphasis on the word "teaser". Looks like they edited it to make it look like a transmission and hard for you to see what the hell is going on. I bet you once theatrical trailers come out you might change your mind.

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2008 05:53 PM

Almost in responce to my previous post, Arny will not be featured in TS, as the T-800 was recast with Roland Kickinger, who ironically played a young Arny in his biopic.

Reavant 07-17-2008 06:09 PM

that would be sweet if claire danes is still in this cuz i like her cuz shes hot

I dunno. The closest thing would prob be Alien, when the first one was a horror movie with a bunch of civillians/truckers running and hiding from one Alien, like a slasher.
Then the second was a small army of badasses going after them and it was an all out action movie.

RP 07-17-2008 09:21 PM

Look, I'm not going to see this if Arnold isnt in it. Thats like going to see a Halloween sequel and Michael Meyers not being in it.

...

I thought about that too, but I look at the each Alien movie to be as much of a consequence of the director changes. You're still dealing with the core concept of "when the hell is that Alien gonna pop up and try and kill Ripley?"

John Conner... hates... robots.

Its odd seeing T-800s in the sunlight.

The Mask 07-18-2008 02:35 PM

it is odd but my fucking god i am so moist and hard for this. it can't possibly suck as bad as T3, especially since Christian Bale generally doesn't pick shit movies. :'(

Reavant 07-18-2008 02:41 PM

christian bale shits golden nuggets

PorkSoda 07-19-2008 08:19 AM

Comes out next year :D

Of course I'm going to see it and am physced, but do yall think theyve ridden the Terminator horse as far as it can go? I actually think I read somewhere that there will be 3 more installemnts (thats a rumor) which is too much. How long do yall think they should keep going?

thedamndest 07-19-2008 11:08 AM

Three movies does seem like a lot to plan on when you don't even know how well the first one will do without Arnold. I think it's good that they're not referring to this as Terminator 4: Salvation.

Purgatory 07-19-2008 12:14 PM

Yeah, this is more of the prequal to the whole series I guess. I'm glad they didn't try to build off the 3rd one. I never was a huge Christian Bale fan until I watched him in American Psycho. Hopefully, this one turns out to be a winner.

Fox 07-19-2008 08:20 PM

I see this as its own movie. Obviously the concept was ripped from elsewhere, but this is not just an action movie or a horror movie. It's a war movie.

Sting Fan 07-19-2008 09:31 PM

I think the concept is good and this could very well play out as an easy three movie set.

As Fox said its a stolen Concept but making new movies about the concept, a very good idea imo. This could really fill out the backstory of Terminator, I always felt there was so much more to be explored in this series.

Terminator Salvation

I know, I know, but I can't find the original thread and I wanted to add this great trailer so here we are. If you can find the first thread (and don't rib me if I overlooked it), make mention and I'll edit the Hell out of this thread and transform it into something proper.

thedamndest 03-02-2009 10:23 PM

Trailer looks pretty good, but I don't have hopes for the movie. There's no point after 2.

Kalyx triaD 03-02-2009 10:24 PM

I'm still interested in the series.

I'd probably watch anything with a killer android in it.

thedamndest 03-02-2009 10:27 PM

It's just that the first two movies were so good that they set the bar so high. I would almost prefer someone just tell me about the story than sit through non-James Cameron directing.

Kalyx triaD 03-02-2009 10:32 PM

I haven't seen a non-Cameron Terminator 'fail'. I enjoyed T3 on it's own merits and SCC is good TV. Then again... well... see my last post.

thedamndest 03-02-2009 10:43 PM

Fair enough. I liked the end of T3 and how the dealt with Sarah's death, but overall I didn't think it warranted an entire movie. I wouldn't say I considered T3 to be a failure, but it is the weakest of the series.

Kalyx triaD 03-02-2009 10:48 PM

Easily. And TX didn't feel like much of an upgrade from T1000.

Fignuts 03-03-2009 12:56 AM

Loved all three movies. Havn't gotten to SCC yet, but I plan to.

This looks pretty fucking awesome. What is that song in the trailer?

YAY ANOTHER EXCUSE TO POST THIS
