My theory:

Iron Shiek has taken one too many shots to the head (and/or maybe snorted one too many lines of coke.) and now he's as demented as you can get. Kind of like Benoit, only without the hanging himself and killing people. In other words...

I listened to a phone-in interview with Sheik and Hogan both on the line, with the two tearing each other apart, calling each other every name under the sun. Then, at the end of the interview as they were saying goodbyes, Sheik changed tone 360 degrees and told Hogan he loved him, brother. His head is messed up but I'm sure he's just trying to work everyone, best as he can in his drug addled state.
