Better Wrestler #37

The return of Better Wrestler is here. After a long hiatus, let me refresh your memory. Flair defeated Piper in a close one to block him from entering the Better Wrestler Hall of Fame. For his first defending matchup, he'll have to face a special contender.

To celebrate the return of Better Wrestler we get the return of an eliminated wrestler. One night only.

One night only = 3 nights only. You get the point shitheads.

Destor 10-10-2008 01:41 AM

My feelings on Flair are pretty wel documented so I dont think I need to elaborate on my voting descisions.

Jeritron 10-10-2008 01:42 AM

This is Zen's chance to get out there and make his voice heard! Rock the vote.

KYR 10-10-2008 01:48 AM

Flair was the man. He had the charisma, the mic skills and, although not the technical wrestling skills of others, always gave his best.

He could draw so much heat from a crowd he could make an ordinary card into a hot event.

Bret had the technical skills. He drew with the kids, but for me, didn't do so much. On the mic, I found him lacking.

What legacy did they both leave to the business - IMO Flair left so much more and I believe he mentored the next generation of wrestlers way more than Bret did (if at all).

Gotta go with Flair :y:

Destor 10-10-2008 01:51 AM

I think we need a third guy to head this with us Jerry.

Jeritron 10-10-2008 01:54 AM

What ever happened to Heroes Welcome? Did he wear out his welcome? Or is he off being a hero somewhere?

What Would Kevin Do? 10-10-2008 01:54 AM

Flair, period. There are very few people I'd vote over him.

He isn't inot mainstream wrestling all that much anymore and TPWW isn't known for talking about much else.

Jeritron 10-10-2008 02:08 AM

Fair enough. Although if he was able to put up with it in the Cena/Orton capacity over the past year, I'd think he'd be able to do the same for Punk/Jericho, both of whom he marked hard for.

Destor 10-10-2008 02:17 AM

Oh yeah.

Destor 10-10-2008 02:17 AM

Theddy would be cool for this if He COULD BE SERIOUS FOR A MOMENT.

Destor 10-10-2008 02:17 AM

MCEazy 10-10-2008 02:20 AM

If Bret had more consistent mic skills and wasn't still a whiny bitch i'd consider this a bit more but alas...

I agree. We naturally work as a trio anyways. Him and me would just have to agree to check our google image thread bombing wit at the door

Destor 10-10-2008 02:25 AM

Well you do get to google pic of the combatants...maybe that will be enough for him.

When Great White Sharks are placed in captivity, they always die shortly after for unexplained reasons. Same water, same thing. The problem is that you're giving them a limited space when they've had access to the whole ocean. It's just not the same for them.

Destor 10-10-2008 02:35 AM

:(

Well said. The only thing I would add would be Bret wasn't that good at putting others over in the ring aka playing the defensive role. I mean sure Flair dose over do it, but can anyone really recall Bret playing the weak card?

Afterlife 10-10-2008 04:48 AM

Voted Bret because Flair can't wrestle.

Ruien 10-10-2008 09:45 AM

I always wanted those sunglasses when I was a kid. Hating on everyone that recieved them from Bret.

BigDaddyCool 10-10-2008 10:07 AM

This poll is a natch.

Destor 10-10-2008 11:14 AM

10-7 Flair. Might be a close match. :y:

Mercury Bullet 10-10-2008 11:48 AM

Best joke I've heard in a while.

Innovator 10-10-2008 11:54 AM

Watching Bret on WWE 24/7, mic skills don't hold up to the NATURE BOY

Really, two of Flairs best matches are the Steamboat/Flair 2/3 Falls and Flair/Funk I Quit. Two contrasting matches both reaking of some serious awesomeness.

Nature Boy, hands down.

HeartBreakMan2k 10-10-2008 12:00 PM

Flair, easily. Michaels is the only one who could beat him for me.

thedamndest 10-10-2008 12:19 PM

Put Flair up against the boyfriend who blackened his eye.

Sepholio 10-10-2008 12:38 PM

Flair. Not really a hart choice here.

See what I did there?

Heros Welcome 10-10-2008 01:28 PM

Dest and Jeri...I am still here and still watching!

It was rough over the summer thats why I went away for a while, but i am indeed BACK!

As for the vote, I got Flair

Lock Jaw 10-10-2008 03:47 PM

I love Bret despite everything.

However... you just CAN'T vote against Ric Flair.

Zen v.W.o. 10-11-2008 06:11 PM

Bret Hart by a country mile. By a canadian country mile, and Canada is fucking huge.

HeartBreakMan2k 10-11-2008 06:29 PM

4 knuckles up, A7X, Afterlife, Ben Rodrigues, blueskies, Dorkchop, Gerard, MVP, Nowhere Man, PapaGeorgio, Ruien, Skull316, The Genius, Triple Naitch, Xerzes, Zen v.W.o.

For the record, you are all incorrect. Just so you guys know.

St. Jimmy 10-11-2008 10:03 PM

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

THE NATURE BOY.

Destor 10-11-2008 10:06 PM

19-16 Flair. Still damn close with planty of time to go.

Because having your own opinion is wrong.

thedamndest 10-11-2008 10:16 PM

What was the verdict on mixing it up and doing tag teams in Better Wrestler competitions? I would love to see some Steiner Brother action up in here.
