Yeah, the ECW Title is a World Title. I think Matt Hardy should be more protected than he is on this show, though. Yes, I'm a Matt mark, and have always liked him better than Jeff, but there is so much potential good in treating both Matt and Jeff like they are top level stars, and as equals. I mean, Edge could have even taken the chickenshit out way and got himself disqualified. It gives Matt the win, and doesn't make Edge look like a bitch.

Everything else sounds really solid. The Brian Kendrick & Ezekiel Jackson are still chasing the WWE Tag Team Championship, it seems, and MVP's losing streak is like someone jumping up and down on stage. It starts, and you're somewhat interested -- then they keep doing it and you're less interested. Finally they keep doing it long enough that you're interested in it again just to see how long they can do it for.

Ok fine, it's a brand title which is called a world title, but it's nowhere near the stature of either the other 2

Matt Hardy jobs to Edge here regardless of his champion status because they're on an equal playing field in terms of kayfabe. They're both main event. In fact, frankly, Edge ranks higher. It's not a bad thing at all. I'm sure Hardy will bounce back from it man. Edge needs to win matches clean here and there too.

It's not the title that's laughable, it's who it's on. Matt Hardy will never be "world champion" material, and if you tell him that he'll just blog and cry about it.

Yeah, I never thought of the ECW Title as being equal to the World/WWE ones. I honestly thought of the US Title as higher when MVP held it and was having some pretty kickass feuds.

Show looks decent.

I can totally see Matt Hardy walking around with the big gold belt in a couple years. He just needs a good angle that makes him look strong against main eventers, kind of like Jeff had against Randy Orton and more recently, Triple H.

Matt beating Mark Henry is really the most he's done.

I really wouldn't be suprised to see Matt Hardy lose the belt in the next couple months so they can put him in MITB and have him win.
Then they'll probably put one of the world titles on him later in the year.
I don't think this is really wishful thinking, since he's prob the next in line to be elevated to that status and MITB is a hot trend to do so.

If I was in charge, I'd let him run with the ECW title for a little longer and elevate him to a title fued over the summer or fall in another way.
I'd use the MITB case for John Morrison, but that's more radical than a Matt Hardy win.

Just watched SmackDown!. A really fun show. I even marked out for Triple H schooling Vladimir Kozlov a bit. Matt Hardy wasn't involved in the main event beat-down segment at all. A pretty pedestrian show, though. Perhaps the most exciting thing about it is that Ezekiel Jackson wore red trunks, instead of his disgustingly small black ones.

As for where Matthew is heading, I'm still sort of hoping that he turns out to be behind the Jeff Hardy attack, and then turns heel in revealing it, and the two fight over the ECW Championship come WrestleMania.

Is anybody else here while watching Smackdown? Like for example, a RAW or PPV thread?

I didn't mind Jeff's promo. He's gotten a lot better, and while they're nothing flashy, they feel organic. When he says something, it doesn't sound awkward or forced.

That's not really a contradiction. Why can't a "paint-by-the-numbers" show be entertaining to watch now and again? Nothing special really happened, but what did happen was done well.
