You're fired...and that's....AN ORDER! *long pause* DAMN!

Sgt. Slaughter and Ron Simmons were wished DAMN well in their future endeavors.

The Sarge??? Damn, that's a bit shocking.

Xero 01-13-2009 10:54 PM

I figured Simmons would go. Slaughter is a surprise.

TNA DAMN! The PPV

Fox 01-13-2009 11:27 PM

How is Slaughter a surprise? He's fucking worthless.

Nowhere Man 01-13-2009 11:33 PM

Yeah, but he's been hanging around for, like, a decade anyway. Firing him now when they should have retired him years ago just seems kinda odd.

I guess they just finally cleared out whatever hiding-spaces the roster had after they found Stevie Richards last year.

Mercury Bullet 01-13-2009 11:38 PM

I am a bit surprised by Slaughter also.

Fox 01-13-2009 11:39 PM

PAYROLL GUY: So, Steph... we found a glitch in the numbers.

STEPH: A glitch?

PAYROLL GUY: Mmmyeah.... see, this guy Stevie Richards has been on pay-roll since 1999, but he doesn't actually "do" anything in the company.

STEPH: Uh-huh.

PAYROLL GUY: But don't worry, we've gone ahead and fixed the glitch.

STEPH: So, he's fired then?

PAYROLL GUY: Well... not exactly. We fixed the glitch. He's just going to stop receiving paychecks and we figure the problem will sort of work itself out. We like to avoid confrontation when at all possible.

STEPH: Fantastic.

------------

(2 Weeks Later...)

STEVIE: Where the hell's my paycheck?

Theo Dious 01-14-2009 12:26 AM

I'm waiting for him to burn the arena down.

This is the most unimformed opinion you have ever had.

Fox 01-14-2009 01:27 AM

Okay you're right. He's a top of the line performer with years and years of great matches left in him. Why he hasn't been involved in a serious angle in years is fucking mind boggling.

No, really though, how is he not worthless?

HBKool96 01-14-2009 02:32 AM

who's sgt slaughter?

Years of experience to hand down to younger wrestlers, is something I guess we can leave to Batista.

Fox, I really like you, but you really need to shut the fuck up right now.

The Sarge has been one of the leading backstage presences in the WWE for years and years now. When I think of "road agent," I think of Sgt. Slaughter. Jimmy Korderas and Tim White proved that no one was safe (and to a lesser degree, so did Val Venis), but Sgt. Slaughter being cut proves that.

He'd be the most shocking of the releases so far.

DaVe 01-14-2009 06:35 AM

And probably won't for a while yet.

Fox 01-14-2009 11:36 AM

Perhaps I should have rephrased my statement, using "not worth the salary" instead of "worthless." Still though, the release of a road agent is not that surprising in the times that we're in. Honestly, I'm more surprised as Simmons, who had regular TV appearances and a small gimmick that was actually over with the fans.

He has job outside of the ring there Fox. Unlike a guy like Hacksaw he does something that is EXTREAMLY important. Simmons doesn't even compare to how important the Sargeis to the WWE. Being on TV doesn't determine your worth, it only mold YOUR perception.

He's in rehab, the last thing they need is to fire someone in rehab.

BigDaddyCool 01-14-2009 02:24 PM

Hardcore always seems to be in rehab during the firing phases.

Didn't stop them from firing Test while he was out injured.

JT 01-14-2009 02:43 PM

Yea, firing Slaughter was shocking to me...guy with the company for 30 years, and extremely loyal. It's like firing your older brother to save money...but then again, I've really seen that one happen.

That's different.

WWE is under the microscope for drug use, if WWE FIRES someone who is trying to kick their addiction, how in the fuck do you think that would make them look?

Not to mention Test getting fired while he was injured happened long before the Wellness Policy was needed.

My Final Heaven 01-14-2009 03:56 PM

Of all the days to wear my Sarge T-shirt. Surreal
