Best Commentary

I don't know if anyone watched this, I haven't seen / bothered to read any threads that may have brought it up, but...

Nash, Booker & Steiner on commentary for an hour of Impact.

This one hour was by far the most entertaining thing I've ever seen from a wrestling show

Best commentary ever, see it for yourselves

BigDaddyCool 02-02-2009 04:58 PM

Oh yeah, that was golden. But the best real commentary team right now is Striker and um, what's that nerd's name. Well ECW right now, they have excellent commentary.

Slow 02-02-2009 05:03 PM

Hmm, Joey Styles? Striker & JBL would've been a good WWE combination.
That or Santino and... well, just him and a mic would make me listen!

Destor 02-02-2009 05:04 PM

We voted on this last week, Matt striker won.

don west

The best commentary from NON-commentators had to be when Hall & Nash & Bischoff were at the table when Sting (crow) was going to wrestle Rick Steiner. I am going to find that video. Had me laughing the whole time.

Booker and Nash were fucking awful.

Nash was okay when he actually bothered to speak, which was rarely, but Booker was insufferable.

NeanderCarl 02-02-2009 06:50 PM

I think Nash would actually make quite a good Gorilla Monsoon style announcer (more storytelling, psychology and entertainment than actual play-by-play), being a big ex-wrestler guy you wouldn't wanna mess with and quite a commanding presence.

Of course, to do that job he would have to, y'know, speak... something he can't be bothered doing, judging by Impact.

6to1 02-02-2009 07:41 PM

yea nash does need to replace west but we said that for years.

NeanderCarl 02-02-2009 08:02 PM

I would have Raven replace West over Nash any day.

I'd even take Larry Zbyszko over West though, so that's not saying much.

KYR 02-02-2009 08:07 PM

Gotta be honest. I liked Nash's commentary but Booker's voice just got to me after about 5 mins.

He sounded like a constipated Wolfman Jack on speed.

BobBitchen 02-03-2009 02:44 AM

That was not Booker T. It was Black Snow.:shifty:

Impact! 02-03-2009 10:49 AM

Nash and Booker (with Steiner doing ring announcing was incredible...

Savio 02-04-2009 10:30 AM

Paul Heyman was a great commentator

NeanderCarl 02-04-2009 11:58 AM

Steiner as announcer was gold, especially his introductions of "KongFucious" and Team 3D "hailing from Dunkin' Donuts".

Mr. Nerfect 02-04-2009 08:36 PM

I didn't hear too much, but I thought Booker T was playing a good commentary. It was meant to be slightly annoying, and when he would snap out of character, it was hilarious.

But, if we're talking commentary for the bigger two, then I'd have to suggest the following teams:

RAW: Joey Styles and John "Bradshaw" Layfield
ECW: Todd Grisham and Matt Striker
SmackDown!: Josh Mathews and Paul Heyman
TNA: Mike Tenay and Mick Foley
