How is Shane Sewell even mildly over?

Never heard of him. Is he canon?

He's a referee turned wrestler turned referee/wrestler who is feuding with Sheik Abdul Bashir (Daivari) in TNA. He also has a match with Booker T at Against All Odds. There is absolutely nothign exciting about him, but the TNA fans seem to love him.

How he is even being made to look like a threat to Booker is pretty sickening.

Oh right, I have seen him. I skipped his fight on the last PPV.

OK, then lets turn this thread towards the fans. How does TNA get everybody to react exactly how they want them to ALL the time? Seems like Vince would kill for that crowd.

They don't. Quite often, they will cheer uber-heels. They're just retarded.

Wrestling Fan Logic:

Bashir = Foreign
Foreign = Bad
Sewell fights against bad
Sewell = Good
Good = Cheers

But what would make them cheer him over Booker T?

It has to do with his first program being against Bashir, that and fans always pop for a ref reassuring his authority. Think about the pops Earl used to get when he'd finger poke Triple H in the chest backing him into a corner yelling and what not. TNA took that and ran with it because they know their fans are idiots.

And as for him being over against Booker I stand by the whole TNA knows their fans are idiots logic.

He looks like a doofus when he wrestles in his referee-themed attire, as well.

The TNA fans have also helped make Sting's heel run an abortion

Reminds me of the early days of TNA when you used to see Jeremy Borash at ringside cheerleading.

He should not be a threat to Booker T, but he could have won one match against him in an upset victory provided they did this before he took off his shirt and beat up Bashir. Booker could have thought he lost a match due to a fast count, beat up the ref, then have a match booked against him later in the evening. Shane catches Booker off guard, rolls him up, and gets the 3 count. Then Booker kicks his ass.

But then Shane Sewell would be the TNA Legends champion.

Non title then? Champs always lose when it's a non title match.

TNA doses all the refreshments in the Impact Zone with "Russo-juice" (patent pending). Shane Sewell is like Kurt Angle to them. Angle is pretty much Jesus.

This is exactly how it should have gone down. The referees help Booker T win, and then Booker beats them down. Sewell earns a Legends Title match from this, but Jim Cornette reassures Booker that the match will be properly officiated, and we get a truce between the referees and Booker, and Booker retains the title.

As for Sewell being over, there are many ways to answer that:

1) Sewell is a face character that is battling heel characters.

2) He is a referee who was previously trained as a wrestler that is not going to take shit from anybody.

3) TNA fans are retarded.

4) Some TNA fans might be smart enough to know that Shane Sewell has been involved in the business for about twenty years now, wrestling noticeably for the last fourteen; and that he was actually a pretty recogniseable name down in Puerto Rico.
