WrestleMania 26 in Arizona

A press conference will be held tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 PM Pacific to officially reveal that, as expected, Wrestlemania 26 will be held at The University of Phoenix Stadium, which can hold upwards of 70,000.

Representatives of WWE, The Arizona Cardinals, Global Spectrum and Glendale, AZ Mayor Elaine Scruggs will be present at the announcement.

Arizona had been expected for well over a year as the city was actively campaigning for the event in mid 2008.

With wrestlemania being in Arizona next yr can we expect Arizona born wrestlers to be put in the hall of fame

I'd love to go to University of Phoenix stadium. Doubt I'll be at Mania next year though after I'm going this year, and I'll be at college and stuff, but we'll see :)

I couldn't help but laugh at the Wikipedia page for WrestleMania 26:

"WrestleMania will feature professional wrestling matches that involve different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that will be played out on World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) primary television programs. Wrestlers will portray a villain or a hero as they follow a series of events that build tension, and culminate into a wrestling match or series of matches.[4] All wrestlers will be from the WWE roster."

The person who wrote this is going to look mighty stupid if the WWE does a one-shot deal with a celebrity or outside talent to wrestle on the card. :shifty:

Apparently the theme of WrestleMania 26 will be "Destruction in the Desert," or something. Here's hoping that we get the return of the orange ropes!

I guess it isn't known yet whether the WWE will use digits or roman numerals, or a mix or whatever, but what does everyone think they should do? WrestleMania XXVI, WrestleMania 26, WrestleMania XX-6, WrestleMania Two-Six, WrestleMania Twenty-Six -- some samples.

Dunno if that will be the official logo. They always release preliminary logo for these press conferences when the venue's announced, but the official logo is usually released closer to the time. For example:
