"Priceless vs. Colons. Decent match but at the very end Priceless squashed the Colons and then Orton helped them finish wiping the floor with the Colons. Orton then cut a promo about the Backlash match. My friend went to get dippin' dots during this promo, Ha!."
Holy shit, am I reading this right? Priceless beat the Colons? Squash like? |
What KIND of dippin' dots?!?!
Gotta go with Fox on this one, they better be a damn good kind!
Scott, hey buddy, umm could you do us all a small small favor and... get bent! :foc: |
I hope Long gets drafted back to SD! ECW is the "C" show right now, and I think it can do well enough without a GM...I mean think about it, if they really wanted to put the E in ECW, why not have it go G.M.-less?

woo Priceless

So apparently Grisham is the new play by play guy on SD, while JR now does color.

Jim Ross moving into a colour commentary position is actually rather interesting. For years I've had the thought that JR actually adds more analysis to a match than actual play-by-play. He knows a lot about each wrestler's background, and can apply that to calling a match. Todd Grisham will also benefit by working with JR, although it does seem like a weird mismatch.
Hopefully this leads to JR becoming more observed with his commentary. For example: Play-by-play JR would probably just be like "BAH GAWD!" when Jeff Hardy takes an epic risk but misses his target, which costs him the match. Nowadays, I think JR should be a little more condemning of such behaviour, and be more critical of a guy like Jeff Hardy for not taking calculated risks. Not a heel JR, just more of that wrestling man's wrestling fan we see in his blogs. |
The brand split is pretty much non-existent for this edition of SmackDown!, for some reason. It's not a big deal, but it's sort of bizarre that Kofi Kingston and Santino Marella can find places on SmackDown!, but MVP and Shelton Benjamin can't.
I think this was just WWE's way of showing us that anything is possible with the WWE Draft. Even Santino Marella challenging The Great Khali.
Perhaps, but the draft itself might actually be a good way to do that.
I'm going to be honest -- with JR moving to the colour commentary position, I'd rather see him work with Josh Mathews than Todd Grisham. I like The Grish more than I used to, but I like him with Matt Striker. Mathews would at least bring some in-ring experience to the table for the SmackDown! team, even if he would technically be the play-by-play guy.
Didnt even get to see the first half hour of the show due to Detroits network being frozen. It finally came on when Santino was entering.
Solid show last night.
I imagine JBL will take over once he heals from whatever is wrong with him.
That Edge/Cena promo was platinum.
I liked how Matt kick the strecher down the ramp at the end....it would have been cool if it crashed

I'm relatively surprised at how the WWE is booking Matt vs. Jeff Hardy. I was fearful that the WWE would just give the win at WrestleMania to Jeff Hardy, because he's the face and the one that moves more merchandise. It's refreshing that the WWE have done something that will ultimately make both men better off, and booked Matt to go over strong in the matches, but because Jeff Hardy does something stupid and fucks it up for himself.
Matt looks smart for capitalising on Jeff's fuck-ups, and because he's actually consistently winning their matches against each other, and Jeff looks good because he has the match under his control, but pushes things too hard for the sake of revenge. I'm actually thinking that WrestleMania 26 could be the year for Edge vs. Christian vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Hardy at the big stage, with either the WWE Title or World Heavyweight Championship (probably the later) on the line. I can see Triple H and Shawn Michaels being paired off against each other, and I see John Cena in a special attraction match instead of the title hunt come the Road to WrestleMania in 2010. |

But truthfully, I see the WWE giving Cena a break from title matches, and either trying to get him to face The Rock (as unlikely as it would be, but you know the WWE sees dollar signs there), Hulk Hogan or The Undertaker. Just one year, though, I'd love to see John Cena with no major program booked, so he fills one of the slots in Money in the Bank. |
I wonder if Cena has lost at wrestlemania yet? I don't think he has.
Last year in the triple threat with him, Orton(as WWE champ) and Triple H... Orton retained.
Ahh ok.
