Really, are they for serious with this? Lackluster.
Trump "owns" raw? That was the biggest disappointment ever.
Discuss. |
How do you own a brand anyhow?
|
You know they were is Charlotte, NC. So naturally I was expecting Flair, plus I remember some sort of rumor saying he was going to be GM, that would have made sense and got a pop.
I was hoping it would have been Bischoff. I could have seen it go to Shane or even dare say HHH as a way for Vince to start fading out. It would have been completely crazy if it was Ted Turner. But no, it was Trump? Really, that guy? What does he have to do with wrestling? |

I have this odd feeling that this is something so stupid that it works.

They pretty much were doing it... then they decided they'd rather target dumb kids instead. To each his own.
|
Wow. Three hours of my life I can never get back....
|
And you know what will really bring in dumb kids? Donald Trump's weird hair.

Haha great. I loved the Trump/Vince feud in 2007. Glad it's back, some interesting drama.
|
At least it's something different.
|
I love all the people who say they lost me as a fan or i hate this...yet they will be tuned in next monday to see where this all goes...all that matters is that the belt is back where it belongs

LOL

I've had personal issues that seemed more important than wrestling lately, and now that the issues have simmered down, I tried to watch. But if this is what they are doing, pass. |

The Jappaneese have done it.

Have you?

OIC.
Yeah gotcha. What a stupid argument that is. |
There are probably lots more people who shouldn't own Raw. Rosie O'Donnell, Paris Hilton, Daniel Baldwin, you get the idea. Donald Trump is slightly above them in that he at least has SOME history with the wrestling business. I'm not just talking about shaving Vince, but he's hosted Wrestlemania a few times at Trump plaza (even though most of the current fans weren't born then).
That said, it would have made more sense to have somebody from the wrestling universe and not just with a passing affiliation to buy the show. Flair, Turner, Heyman, Shane, even Mike Adamle probably would have been better choices. This is a clear attempt a grabbing an audience, but with The Donald? He overstayed his pop culture welcome about four years ago. That said, the matches featuring Smackdown superstars last night were quite good. Surprisingly, the Big Show looked dominant for a little bit. I hope that continues. |
No, I see your point about he does have some passing history with the wrestling business. But it was just hard to watch when he was ranting about how he is going to give back to the WWE Universe and how great raw is but Vince has been running it into the ground or whatever. And then talking about how he is going to do something no one has done before by making it no commercials for one show. Who gives a fuck?
|
Yeah, I would have preferred they not do the angle rather than get The Donald. Or get Flair. But I guess Flair can't give back to the WWE Universe AND make ET headlines.
I am glad Vince didn't do the whole giving back thing since it would have been his 1000th arbitrary face/heel turn. He's getting to be like Monty Burns with those trademark changes of heart. |
how long before trump names a gm i see trump geting board with this in 2 weeks, i do not see him being there every wneek. kind of wish he would name bischoff

Let's stick to the US, though. |
I was really hoping for bischoff or shane.

Not Trump. I was dreading the notion it might be Flair, but by comparison.... |
Exactly. I knew it would be someone boring...but Trump is just right out. It is like when someone is going to taco bell, and you give them a few bucks saying hey get me whatever this will buy. When they come back they give you a soda and 3 dollars in change.
|
It's like you're jerking off. You're sitting there, and you know what's going to be coming. But then a rabid dog bursts through the door and bites off your dick.
That's sort of like last night. |
It is like sneaking into your parents closet in mid december to see all your present, then on christmas morning, you get socks, a wrench set, and some really nice suits...and there is no sign of the x-box anywhere.
|
Fuck is going in here?
|
I am predicting that he will sell it back to Shane in exactly 1 year, when the 6/15/10 Raw will be on his 64th Birthday.
|
I'm predicting Trump leaves within two months, but not before plugging a new season of the Apprentice.

My main question really boils down to "to what end?" I mean, I guess the answer is "ratings," but maybe a little more of a plan? |
Donald Trump owning Raw is stupid, and was a huge let down. However, I'll admit I'm curious how long they go with this. Will Trump make appearances on the tron each week? (fuck knows he won't be there live each week).....and I have to admit I'd get a good laugh out of seeing Trump on the Raw Superstars page, if he makes it that far.
|
trump owning raw is interesting. God, why dont you fucks just STOP WATCHING RAW. Its like complaining that your mom's house is so hot but you wont move out. I respect opinions but first ppl dont want shit to be predictable and you got it. God damn, give it a shot first b4 you shit on it. You guys are sounding like vince/hhh/steph in a meeting in 2003 with good ideas.
|
You guys are missing the point. After watching the segment with Trump and Vince, It's obvious that Trump is exactly what the WWE universe needs. The most electrifying man in ZZZZZzzzzzzz...............
