Just watched the entire show. Fucking amazing. I enjoyed pretty much everything on the show.
Vince McMahon's character actually entertained me tonight, instead of annoying me with inconsistencies. His interactions with the Superstars of the WWE were either quite dramatic, or at least mildly humourous. The story with Theodore Long being on probation does something with him, too.
R-Truth and Shelton Benjamin's match was quite good, and the promo work by Benjamin, while not flashy, hit the right buttons and made you want to see them fight. Benjamin is a late bloomer on the mic, but there are times where he really delivers.
The stuff with the ladies was not horrible. The story between Melina and Michelle McCool has been beefed up, and Alicia Fox can work some good spots in her match, even if she does need a little polishing. Gail Kim looks crisp as hell in the ring. I wish they'd let her do more. A face vs. face feud with Melina could be cool.
I'm not sure if it was anything like their Word Up segments on WWE.com, but the inaugural edition of the show on SmackDown! was funny. Shad Gaspard is going to be a star. The man can talk, he can crack a joke, he's big, he can look legitimate, and he can move in the ring. Jesse was also really funny in this segment. The guy can obviously talk, and he can also work a match. Here's hoping we see "Greezy Jeezy" get back in the ring soon. Also, Eve Torres is hot.
CM Punk and John Morrison's match has already been talked about. They are really teasing CM Punk as a heel. I am so interested to see where this is going. If I had my way, Punk would sneak out a victory over Hardy with a roll-up at The Bash, with Hardy not being satisfied with that result. We also have Edge wanting his one-on-one rematch, John Morrison with a fall over the World Heavyweight Champion, and Dolph Ziggler with a hopeful decisive victory over the largest man on SmackDown! wanting a shot at the belt. Cue a mini-feud between the four men over who gets the title shot at Night of Champions.
"Rage in a Cage" seems to be the new official name for a WWE Steel Cage Match. Hmm. This match was actually really good, and some of the spots were really well done. If I were a mark, I'd feel that Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio at The Bash would be a can't miss match. The SmackDown! team is doing so well.
