HHH and Cena (Raw spoilers)
So HHH wrestled a three stages of hell match at the Bash and was apparently still hurt from that match last night. MVP is a rising star who didn't even have a match at the PPV. HHH plows through him in a couple of minutes.
Cena wrestled Miz last night in a regular match and was in perfect condition yesterday. Miz is no where near the level of MVP and got his ass beat at the PPV. Cena wins their match on Raw, but looks weak most of the match. This isn't necessarily a anti HHH post. It's just something I noticed. As much as I dislike Cena's ring ability he could have easily squashed Miz in 2 minutes. Pointing out flawed booking is fun. |
To be fair HHH vs MVP wasn't a squash match. MVP dominated most of the match. But HHH was never going to lose this one and it's not as if they were going to have a 20 minute match on Raw.

Yeah I was not happy with that at all. Right when the match was announced, I figured MVP would have a hard time winning, but the match wasnt horrible. The worst part was the finish. MVP countered the pedigree twice, then the 3rd time he easily went down to it. HHH still needs to realize that he wont be around forever, and he has to help stars someday.

They tried to make MVP look good (or at least smart for focusing on the leg), but it's hard to make someone look good while still losing in a 5 minute match.
The Cena match was more watchable. He gets a lot of crap, but at least he's not afraid to help try get someone over by selling their offense really well (The Miz held his own for awhile last night, and before WrestleMania Cena sold a total ass-kicking by the Big Show very well). Both matches were pretty predictable, but it's not their fault. It's the writers' fault for setting up a ridiculous tournament where the finals were so obvious from the get-go. I'm fine with MVP being in the tournament, but don't put him up against MVP when it's clear the tournament was put in place to get Triple H another shot at Orton. Put MVP up against Cena, and maybe put someone like the Big Show against Triple H. It'd be a shitty match, but at least Show is built up to the point of him being a legitimate threat to Triple H. Since Cena was outside of the HHH/Orton storyline, him winning would've been much less of a given against someone like MVP. |
Cena/Miz was so much better than the PPV match. Still a burial, but no where near as bad as their Bash match.

What do you mean, Raw was badly booked?
|
Why did they bother calling it a tournament? Looked silly when they were advertising the first match of the tournament and it said "Semi finals".
|
King screwed up last night on commentary too. After Triple H won he was saying how he can't see him winning later tonight against either Cena or Miz because he's had such brutal matches lately. Either King didn't realise that the final wasn't happening on last night's episode, or he knew it was happening later that night on next week's edition and he fucked up by saying "tonight".
