guilty pleasures

GD 07-05-2009 08:15 AM

I think Yoshi Tatsu has a bad ass.

DAMN iNATOR 07-05-2009 08:45 AM

I think Abraham Washington used a clever mash-up of Lincoln's first name and George's last name to cover for the fact that he is indeed President Obama.:shifty:

I also never thought of :y:Rob!...:y:Van!...:y:Dam! as a spot monkey, and loved his way of pointing to his shoulders to get the crowds to chant his name...great times. Fuckin' shame he fucked up his glory with drugs though.:-\ Was a local guy (Battle Creek) too...

I thought the Original Sheik (birthplace: where else? Lansing, MI representin'!) had a very good thing with his patented fireball maneuver which many have imitated but none successful enough to note. He also used to wrestle a few times in our local CBS affiliate's studios (WLNS TV 6) on Saturdays in the older times...

Finally kareru's last sentence is wrong. The greatest wrestler ever is

SABU, Sheik's nephew...

And anyone who claims otherwise has to best this first before I will accept it:
Sabu's wrestling style is unorthodox, consisting mainly of aerial and grapple moves performed with the aid of tables (which he is famous for smashing opponents through) and chairs, which he uses as weapons and as launching pads for some of his more death-defying moves. He is also famous for the invention of his triple-jump techniques, which involve jumping from a set-up chair onto the ring ropes and then springing off onto an opponent with a flying attack of some sort.

Sabu is also notorious for continuing to wrestle matches even though he has suffered serious injuries that require medical attention. An example of this was during the Stairway to Hell match with The Sandman where Sabu's jawbone was broken when he landed face-first on the steel guardrail outside the ring. Rather than ending the match early, Sabu actually duct-taped his jaw shut and continued to wrestle the match to its scheduled conclusion. During the aforementioned "Born To Be Wired" match with Terry Funk, Sabu legitimately tore open his biceps on the barbed wire. He taped it up on the spot and continued the match. Afterwards, he super-glued himself together to drive to the hospital where it took more than 100 stitches to close the wound. He refused to miss any matches because of that injury.

Sabu's famous signature gesture, dubbed the Magician of Arabia, is pointing to the sky while looking upwards, especially when entering or exiting the ring, or before performing an especially dangerous move (the gesture is often referred to as Sabu pointing to the heavens in tribute to his uncle The Sheik, even though he had been using the gesture many years before Sheik had died). Originally he performed the gesture to accentuate his wildman persona, pointing to the lights above the ring as if he were enamored by them. Later, Sabu stated on camera, during a shoot interview, that the gesture "don't mean nothin...not really".

So, yeah, if you can continue a match with a busted jaw by duct taping it, that is the ultimate badassery if there is such a word.

I find Shawn Michaels to be boring and annoying. Not always, of course, but more often than not.

Serious question...do you find his DX antics with Triple H annoying also?

What about his DX hijinx with Triple H? and by this I mean the new DX not original...I found most of what they did to be sophomoric at best..

DAMN iNATOR 07-05-2009 09:36 AM

Also, I just found out that the man who mastered submission wrestling quicker than anyone else is back...don't show the spoiler if you don't want to know who it is.

SPOILER: show
Chris "Master Lock" Masters

Not annoying, but very redundant.

Rammsteinmad 07-05-2009 10:25 AM

I can't stand Triple H.

Halbowsky 07-05-2009 12:01 PM

Stickman 07-05-2009 12:36 PM

My first wet dream was to Sunny.

Mr. C 07-05-2009 01:30 PM

I think in the main event on RAW this past Monday night, Mark Henry should’ve stayed heel, cleanly beating Randy Orton, and became new WWE Champion.

thedamndest 07-05-2009 01:32 PM

I raised the briefcase.

I didn't even know there was a second.

Xero 07-05-2009 02:30 PM

I want to see Hulk Hogan live to say I experienced Hulkamania.

Testicle 07-05-2009 02:35 PM

There may have been a time in late 2000, where I though Chyna was decent looking. :o

Testicle 07-05-2009 02:38 PM

I feel dirty.

James Steele 07-05-2009 02:45 PM

I hate anyone who hates Triple H or Shawn Michaels to the point that I stalk them and constantly misplace items in their residence to piss them off.

ministrychick77 07-05-2009 03:00 PM

Seth82 07-05-2009 03:48 PM

I actually kinda liked WCW Uncensored '95

Its considered one of the worst ppv's of all time but its pretty fun show

mike adamle 07-05-2009 04:37 PM

I'm not the real Mike Adamle.

Afterlife 07-05-2009 04:46 PM

Blown.

My Final Heaven 07-05-2009 04:46 PM

I thought Nailz was a kickass gimmick. An insane convict running around in the back with his gaurd's nightstick making life hell for everybody else = RATINGS

Billy Gunn's entrance once gave me an erection.

GD 07-05-2009 05:30 PM

As a kid I was a huge fan of the Taker-Yokozuna feUd. I was a die hard Hogan and Doink fan.

Evil Vito 07-05-2009 06:21 PM

Goldberg was the first wrestler I was ever a mark for...and so as such I always wanted him pushed no matter how inept in the ring he became...including his 2003 run that had people even wanting Triple H (right in the middle of his reign of terror) to go over him.

Juan 07-05-2009 06:22 PM

I liked WCW better before Nitro, before Hogan and before the nWo

James Steele 07-05-2009 06:25 PM

I vividly remember a match on WCW Saturday Night between Disco Inferno and Hardbody Harrison.

James Steele 07-05-2009 06:26 PM

I was a Disco Inferno mark as a kid. :nono:

Juan 07-05-2009 06:27 PM

Chart Buster > Stone Cold Stunner

IC Champion 07-05-2009 07:03 PM
