Is there some story behind why they are having this type of gimmick match?

You'd think that, after 11 years, someone might have noticed that Kane works better with smaller wrestlers.

Then again, you'd also think that after three years people would have noticed Khali can't work.

Kane/Khali was a decent match at Summerslam, considering. In fact, it was the most impressed I've ever been with Khali.

That said, I don't understand why Vince hired a guy who can barely walk, let alone kept him for three years AND used him as an unstoppable monster/champion.

He wants to capture the Indian market. But he could have gotten somebody that can actually work.

Kane works better with average-sized wrestlers. The two big men he works well with are Undertaker and Big Show (mainly as his partner, IMO).

Khali works better sitting on the couch.
