Slam Master J

For real?

Is there potential here?

DAMN iNATOR 09-11-2009 02:56 PM

No. There is nothing redeeming about a white kid who can't wrestle or rap worth a shit, and yet still tries to fit in with Cryme Tyme. They should just fire his ass.

Anybody Thrilla 09-11-2009 02:56 PM

Jesse's not that bad, is he?

CSL 09-11-2009 02:57 PM

Favourite to go #1 in the Pink Slip Pool

If I had to choose between Slamaster J and R-Truth, I'd can Truth.

Yeah, I think he's on my list actually, but I hope I'm wrong now.

DAMN iNATOR 09-11-2009 03:01 PM

That's your choice, man. But at least R-Truth is established and has some impressive wins, along with being able to actually rap somewhat, whereas all SMJ has done is wrestled and defeated Charlie Haas, and last night he lost to Ziggy on Superstars, can't rap for shit, and is trying too hard to fit in with Cryme Tyme. Not exactly what I'd call impressive on Jesse's part.

Anybody Thrilla 09-11-2009 03:20 PM

I can't believe you're a 28 year old mark. It's obviously a comedy angle. Cryme Tyme doesn't even rap, if you haven't noticed.

Also, R-Truth is probably the worst rapper of all time.

Moreover, if they wanted Slamaster to get some 'impressive wins', it would be quite easy to book him to do so.

The Gold Standard 09-11-2009 03:45 PM

He is getting fired soon. It is only a matter of time, and I will not care at all.

I know it's a comedy angle, but the problem is it's a horrible one. Cryme Tyme may not rap, but Slam Master J tries to and bombs miserably every fucking time. Now maybe some people would consider that humorous; I for one do not.

Evil Vito 09-11-2009 04:31 PM

<font color=goldenrod>The fact that Michael Hayes books the SmackDown brand is the only reason Slam Master J is still employed. He was in my pink slip pool as well.</font>

Afterlife 09-11-2009 04:39 PM

I've not been witness to SMJ's lack of ability.

The Jayman 09-11-2009 05:59 PM

I don't really have an opinion about Slam Master J. I just want to know what WWE is going to achieve with a white rapper wannabe turning into a success. I mean I don't get why...oh shit I forgot

Which is why Hayes should give him something better.

Juan 09-11-2009 06:50 PM

I must have missed when Slam Master J started rapping.

agree..... he's the son of a Freebird for christ sakes.... Hayes could at least find something better than his current gimmick..... reunite him with Festus and have them feud with The Hart Dynasty..... they could even bring in a Diva chick to act as their manager to offset/compete with Natalya

Skippord 09-11-2009 08:53 PM

Jesus Christ DAMNi NATOR

he's never rapped, shut up

But they're black, and wear bling and say "Money money, yeah, yeah"

:(

Afterlife 09-11-2009 09:43 PM

I think if he gets fed up with being unappreciated by Cryme Tyme, we could see him going by "Jesse Gordy", and getting a new partner to feud with them.

FourFifty 09-11-2009 10:20 PM

Hayes likes him, so I think they'll keep him around until the next <strike>cunt hunt</strike> Diva search.

parkmania 09-11-2009 10:34 PM

I still would love to see him become a member of Legacy once Teddy turns face.

Mr. Nerfect 09-12-2009 12:15 AM

Slam Master J is a good wrestler, actually. I've been quite entertained by what I've seen in the ring from him. He's really quite fluid and shit. Plus, his promos are highly amusing. His stuff with Cryme Tyme has been the funniest stuff this side of Santino. Better than DX's shit.

I figure that the reason Hayes hasn't given Jesse more to do is to avoid "favouritism." Hayes is making him work for it.

The Gold Standard 09-12-2009 01:24 AM

Slam Master J needs to be fired, or sent down and brought up with another gimmick. I think this one is bad, just like Jesse was bad. Have a total transformation like Ziggler got.

First of all, the incarnation of "Jesse" didn't have a gimmick after being Festus' handler, which is why he disappeared. Secondly, you don't have to be sent away to change your gimmick. If the Cryme Tyme Cronie thing doesn't pan out, he can simply drop it, get pissed and go from there with something new. Charlie Haas looked fantastic on SD; very dark. I"ve heard Hawkins is using some type of gothic or emo gimmick. Team them up, and have them accept Jesse into their group if he starts brooding over the social rejection.

Skippord 09-12-2009 04:17 AM

I really wish Charlie Haas could get a chance to be more than a jobber

good looking out, Afterlife

Afterlife 09-12-2009 04:43 AM

Thanks, Red. :y:

Mr. Nerfect 09-13-2009 12:12 AM

I'd like to see John Bradshaw Layfield sponsor Charlie Haas on-air, and give him a bit of a rub.

CSL 09-13-2009 12:16 AM

Am I the only one that thinks Charlie Haas looks like a skinnier, whiter version of The Barbarian in that garb?

Which isn't a bad thing.

Afterlife 09-13-2009 01:17 AM

Don't know the Barbarian. But I do think Haas looked great.

Yes he has. There were a couple of backstage segments on a couple different episodes of SD! where he attempted to rap, (so I guess technically speaking, you're correct :shifty:) but failed miserably. The End.

Anybody Thrilla 09-13-2009 01:10 PM

They aren't trying to pass him off as a great rapper though. Why are you so fired up about this?

DAMN iNATOR 09-13-2009 05:30 PM

Because I kind of get the feeling that they're going to try to turn him into a rapper, and unlike when Cena did that on SD! and got over with it, the fans will NEVER embrace a wannabe re-incarnation of Cena, as they will see it as a transparent attempt to get another wrestler over on pure mic skills, and not at all based on what he can do physically in the ring. And that's just not right.

Sixx 09-13-2009 05:34 PM

Ugh. That thread reminded me of "Vanilla Gorilla".

They already made a wanna-be rapper called R-Truth. It is god awful. Thus far, the best thing about him is that he gets beat up by an angry Scotsman.

Right now, SMJ is something you need to wait and see.Making assumptions based on nothing will not get you anywhere.

He's not that guy anymore. :-\

Sixx 09-13-2009 05:41 PM

I'll always remember him as a wigger marine.

Anybody Thrilla 09-14-2009 03:07 PM

Slamaster isn't doing battle raps on his opponents, either. The only thing he has in common with Cena is that he's white.

Let me ask you a question, DAMN iNATOR...how did you feel about Grandmaster Sexay?

Anybody Thrilla 09-14-2009 03:07 PM

Or Scotty 2 Hotty for that matter...

thedamndest 09-14-2009 04:09 PM

I don't know if the damage can be undone. Slam Master J isn't and won't ever be over. It's going to take something pretty significant for a relative newbie to overcome that stigma. Even saying "I'm Terry Gordy's son" probably won't have much of an effect on this audience due to A) the length of time spent in shitty gimmicks and B) the audience not knowing who Terry Gordy is. Looks like the next Jimmy Snuka, Jr.
