Anyone play Magic the Gathering online?

Yeah, I'm a nerd now. Got this Magic game on the 360 and now I'm addicted. Downloaded the Magic online game for the pc and been playing the free trial shits. I'll eventually get on the full version later.

BigDaddyCool 09-22-2009 01:51 PM

NERD!

Also I think Kane Knight does.

D Mac 09-22-2009 02:42 PM

It's just a card game! No different then playing poker. :shifty:

Loose Cannon 09-22-2009 02:48 PM

Supreme and ANybody Thrilla play

D Mac 09-22-2009 04:06 PM

I bet there's a lot more people, they just won't admit it. Pussies.

Boomer 09-23-2009 07:30 AM

I mean I've still got all my old cards, but no XBL.

Kane Knight 09-24-2009 01:04 AM

BDC's a lying whore.

Hornicane 09-24-2009 01:07 AM

I play the cardboard game and the XBL one, but not online. I buy the actual cards pretty frequently so I'm not gonna buy packs of virtual cards as well.

I've seen you playing it. I almost have all the cards unlocked. We must battle sometime.

D Mac 10-03-2009 04:16 PM

You were asking who else played MTGO and BDC said I did. So I ra with it. :D

And yeah. I've had 200/200 GS from DotP for most of the time it's been out. Shame the new patch sucks so badly.

Im not too sure what's being said here, but I hope it's not about the fact that I didn't shower today.

We discussed that already Av.

Ermaximus 10-07-2009 09:38 AM

I'll admit I do. I've been trying to max the elf deck out atm, but everyone I play disconnects just before I beat them.:(

Just unlock stuff offline if it's a problem.

Icess 10-08-2009 12:20 AM

There's a much better game out there for the PC, though it's much older. It's more of an RPG where you earn the cards by roaming a world. There's torrents out there, and I have it somewhere. It's called the same thing, so it's tricky to find. Crushes the XBLA version.

I don't think it's called the same thing, because I had that for the PC. Still do, but it won't run on my computer on XP.

Gertner 10-08-2009 01:55 AM

I'm a little upset that I create a thread for Kane Knight to make a special appearence in Casual, and yet, I was shunned!!!!!

I actually have the cd for that game. That game is amazing. The one where random creatures will walk up to you and you can duel them or pay them to fuck off? I love this game, mostly because the more ou beat people the more free cards you get. I had a sick black deck once, but then the game crashed and I lost it all. :/

Its definitely the same name, and has an expansion too. I still have both discs, but the RPG part crashed ridiculous amounts for me. Everyone is making me want to pull it out again though.

Wikipedia is the only source that lists that game as DotP. I own the game in question. I don't need to be told about it.

Edite: The correct title appears to be "Shandalar." This sounds like the right one, though I don't know where the game is.

*shrug*

RBM 10-10-2009 12:13 AM

I've been getting back into it for the first time since the late 90s recently.

If Magic the Gathering online had maybe a 15 per month MMO model I would play it.

I'm not buying virtual cards though.

Shandalar... yeah, I have that game. Fun to fool around with a bit. The first or second turn wins that are capable with not a whole lot of effort involved are quite funny and show why cards like time twister, the moxes and black lotus were never reprinted.

El Fangel 10-10-2009 12:31 AM

I recently sold my entire card collection for my 360, I would get the online one but I havent gotten around ot it yet.

Boomer 10-10-2009 09:29 AM

I'm going to try and see if I can get the new Manalink update working with the old game. They've supposedly added over 2000 cards on top of what all the expansions had.

D Mac 10-12-2009 05:22 PM

Yeah the online pc version is free to play with a bunch of pre made decks for as long as you want.

Apparently the dlc for DotP is due out next Wednesday. Hopefully the new decks are decent, or at least good enough so that people will want to play them online rather than just using elfball like everyone seems to now.

Kane Knight 10-15-2009 12:56 AM

Well, we get Tez's deck, at least.

Apparently, DotP is still in the top ten downloaded games.

Hornicane 10-15-2009 01:26 AM

The e-mail I got from Wizards led me to believe that the other 2 decks are new versions of Sarkhan and Jace's decks.

Great. My game has been freezing up every time I try to play now.

GreySunshine 10-15-2009 06:28 AM

Hopefully Jace's new deck won't suck as much as his current one. :-\

Kane Knight 10-15-2009 08:16 AM

The new decks are supposed to be different decks entirely, though it looks like they're done by the same characters. Cries of Rage is the name of one, confirmed a couple months back.

Since the patch?

D Mac 10-15-2009 03:49 PM

No it started freezing up sometimes before. Think it's my console.

Kane Knight 10-21-2009 09:04 AM

The DLC for DotP went up this morning. All I can say is: Holy fuck.

Ermaximus 10-21-2009 09:52 AM

Is it good KK?
