Why? Well lets just say there's more to wrestling than wrestling. Benoit had the charisma of the belt he held in the above picture.

benoit may have been an exceptional techincal wrestler, but he's got nothing on HBK.

There was a time where Benoit was for me the best wrestler in the world. I dunno if I could ever say that for HBK. This is tough.

tbh if HBK beat Bret I dont see why he wouldnt beat benoit since Bret is better than Benoit, but im voting Benoit in the hopes it screws over shawn.

Benoit was better at certain aspects of the game. He was an incredible technical wrestler and he slaughtered his family better than HBK ever could but I still went with the Heart Break Kid.

Benoit was the better technical wrestler.

But HBK was the better wrestler overall.

People want to talk about what Benoit did, but you can't erase Wrestlemania 20 at Madison Square Garden, which I might add Shawn Michaels was in that match and lost and Chris Benoit was victorious. Benoit, easily.

Benoit is my all time favorite wrestler, easily. He didn't need buttloads of charisma, he just had to go out and kick major ass.

Benoit and Eddie celebrating after that match is one of my favourite moments ever as a fan.

Same here, I kinda expected a Michaels to squash Benoit in this.

That is my greatest moment as a wrestling fan ever. I'm not ashamed to admit I did have a tear in my eye watching it live (on TV) when it happened. Good times. :'(

I think it's interesting that the first time benoit was on better wrestler he was totally squashed.

Yeah, people must be starting to forgive and forget. If Benoit wins this round, I reckon he'll go out to whoever he faces next.

One of my favorite moments as well. I watched the RAW tribute to Benoit live as it happened and that moment closed the show. One of the most erie feelings I have ever had watching wrestling. It just hit me as I watched it, I was just saying to myself, holy shit they are both gone.

HBK is not the best but he's certainly better than Benoit and yeah sadly if this had been a few years ago my vote would have been cast to that coward.

I'll say this, Benoit was one of my favourite wrestlers. Despite the glaring lack of charisma, he actually managed to make me care about what he was doing, and HBK never really did that for me. I'll admit, a lot of that is probably because I started watching regularly around '99 or whenev when he was just the commisioner character, so a lot of the classic HBK matches I've only seen well after the fact. Benoit actually got me emotionally invested into what he was doing though. The triple threat Euro-Continental match with Jericho and Angle is one of my favorite matches. I'd mark out every time he got a title shot, and I marked the fuck out when he finally won it. In that time, however, I can't recall ever really marking out for HBK.

However, I can admit that Michaels is the total package, and one of, if not the best all-around preformer in the business, and for that he deserves to win it.

That required way too much time and thought. :-\
