I'm listeing to agalloch which is like a folk metal band, who has like metal vocals and drums but like strings and weird noises "the shadow of our pale companion" is pretty fucking amazing |
reading about agalloch more and the album I am listening to atm "mantle" is very post rock based. I like it a lot.
I listened to mastadon's blood mountain and it's pretty killer. |

Antonius Block: Vem är du?The official translation is: Antonius Block: Who are you?

I wish Howard Jones would do bhbs full time.
Check out Hibria (The Skull Collectors and Defying the Rules) also Electric Wizard, and Kylesa. Check out fucking Danzig for some creepy laughs too.
That Torche album was fucking great. The latest Metallica album is absolutely blowing my mind as well. I got to see them a year ago and they played about 6 songs from it. "Death Magnetic" is just now starting to become engrained into my subconscious like the Black Album and Justice for All |
Thanks for the info will check all these out.
Some good bands on that list.
I want to check out these guys too:
Krallice Gates of Slumber Pyramids of Nadja Black Water |
Pyramids with Nadja.
It's a collaboration between those two bands. |
oh sweet. So are both great?
Nadja are an acquired taste and Pyramids are... alright, I guess.
but together?

No, it doesn't.
Also pretty much any band mentioned with the exception of a couple I don't like and a few I've never heard of. Plus stuff like Neurosis, Pelican, Katatonia, Emperor, Death, Electric Wizard, My Dying Bride, Enslaved, Buried Inside, Red Harvest, Cult of Luna, Old Man Gloom, Anaal Nathrakh, Godflesh and many, many, many others. |
Don't laugh at Enslaved. Nothing gives you that right.
I know you listen to Indie alot, I saw metal and thought Indie and was ready to come beat you, but you did list High On Fire, so I wont have to.
"Metal: A Headbangers Journey" is required watching as well.
listen to Mercyful Fate
Check out Moonspell, I think they're awful but you might dig them.
