Two's the number in this revamped series, as the two games going head to head are the first sequels of their respective franchise. There's a lot of similarities here... Both of these games are considered the installments that rocketed their franchises to the public eye. Both are critical and commercial successes, and both are still considered classics.

RE2 I always felt that RE was the kernal of the genre. It also scared the shit outta me.

Series has bad acting tho

Always liked silent hill better. I like the atmosphere and the type of horror better.

Resident Evil 2. Probably the 1st horror game I played that I can remember. Controls were a bit awkward but the numerous ways the game managed to scare someone was amazing.

Both games were fucking excellent, but I love RE2 more.

I feel RE2 was a better game but Silent Hill always creeped me out more.

What the fuck is wrong with you guys. Silent Hill 2 is probably the biggest mindfuck ever put forth by the video game development community. And the version with the maria scenario was even more mind fuckedly mind fucking. SH2.
