Who beat goldberg ending his streak?
I was just thinking about this and couldnt remember. I keep thinking it was nWo related. Also what number did his streak end at?
|
I think it ended at 173,but I know it was Kevin Nash.
Nash defeated Goldberg with help from Scott Hall and a 'shock stick'. |
Also,I think that was at Starrcade (IIRC) 1998.
|
Yep Starrcade 1998 indeed. Also Disco Inferno helped as well if i am not mistaken :\
|
It was one of those taser gun/cattle prod thingies. And yes it was Nash who pinned him. Hall held the weapon
|
In retrospect...
why do we bitch about HHH when Goldberg never paid his dues...and went that long? |

Yeah, I know you can't place the blame for WCW's downfall on one single moment, but that was a HUGE blow to the company when Goldberg lost and then was made to look like even more of a loser the next night on Nitro.

:nono: If Triple H could draw like that... |

Im wondering, did the number of wins include house shows? And if not, did he ever lose at a house show?
|
lol wcw ran house shows :\
|
I could have sworn they did... :shifty:
|
I remember hearing about him losing a match at a house show before the streak ended.
But I'm not sure if it's true. |
WCW had the occasional house show. But it was basically a TV show.
And as bad a decision as turning Goldberg inot a jobber, or the fingerpoke of doom was, I actualy think the worst was when Sting came down from the rafters after an eight month buid-up at Starcade and couldn't manage a clean pin on Hogan; he needed Bret's help, a referee reversal, and a quick count??? Yeah, that's what the fans wanted. :nono: |

Or had Bret Hart beat him. That would have been respectable. |

Didn't Eric Bishoff say the nail in the coffin was when Goldberg beat Hogan on Nitro as opposed to a PPV?

He does he is "hella" over rated.

:foc:
|
well in reference to Savior- you suck
but a goldie question... how many times did he lose in WCW and to who? |
Well all I remember was him losing to Nash at Starrcade, Bret Hart for the U.S. Title, Bret Hart for the World Title at Starrcade, Bret Hart for the World Title on the Nitro after, Booker T on some show and Steiner at Fall Brawl.
|
man all I remembered was Nash beatin him and Goldie taken out Bret

Secondly, Goldberg was drawing long after he beat Hogan so that excuse is lame. |
I have the right to an opinion people.
|
Yeah you do but not a single soul here respects it since it's sh</>it so move on.

However in one sense it was good because a huge TV audience got to see Goldberg win the WCW title, and do it by beating Hulk Hogan clean in the middle. That scene really made him look like the biggest star in wrestling at that point. Goldberg was still a draw after that. The problem was that Hogan swerved Goldberg out of the top spot, and used the Warrior to put himself back in the top spot while Goldberg worked a secondary role feuding with people like DDP. Then the Nash/Hogan thing killed him as a draw. But if Bischoff thinks Goldberg winning the title on free TV killed WCW he's either lying or dillusional. |
Oh he is lying. Trust me, he knows exactly where he went wrong. He is a smart dude.
|
Well, all of those factors previously mentioned, along with having the same top guys started a slow fall from grace, but we all know who ultimately killed WCW: Jamie Kellner.
By the way, wasn't Goldberg's loss to Booker T. on a Monday Nitro (which I think was a World Title match) his only clean loss? |
