If you want to download one song/don't want to torrent

This is for anyone who wants to ever just download one song (torrents usually have full albums and shit) or can't use torrents because you are trying to download music at work. First disable the quicktime plugin.

Firefox:
Tools > Options > Downloads > Plug-ins, and click the tick beside the Quicktime plugin to disable it.

IE:
I don't know if anyone still uses this piece of shit, but it seems to work without disable quicktime. If it doesn't just go to tools > options and uninstall the plugin.

Google Chrome:
I don't think you can disable it, so you'd have to uninstall it or use IE or Firefox

Goto

www.wrzuta.pl

Search for whatever song you want (there is a HUGE tonne of shit on there since it's like youtube but more for just audio)...

then when you find your song, in the addressbar change the "audio" part to "sr/f"

so... if you're sad and want to download Johnny Cash "Hurt" the link would be:
http://lolkax3.wrzuta.pl/audio/4Kt0vI2jynz/johnny_cash_-_hurt
change that to http://lolkax3.wrzuta.pl/sr/f/4Kt0vI2jynz/johnny_cash_-_hurt

then hit enter and it saves as an MP3, no conversions needed!

Indifferent Clox 01-14-2010 09:20 PM

you can choose just one song to download from torrents.

Corporate CockSnogger 01-15-2010 04:58 PM

www.4shared.com

The Destroyer 01-15-2010 05:19 PM

Sounds pointlessly fiddly.

Kapoutman 01-15-2010 05:47 PM

I just google "song_title mediafire" and usually get what I want. Scan for viruses before playing though.

Requiem 01-15-2010 05:54 PM

I never download single songs anymore. But in the odd chance that I want to, torrents allow you to select/deselect files you want to download, so you can just download one song and be done with it.

How do I make this happen?

The Franchise 01-17-2010 12:22 AM

Yeah I'd like to know too

Had no clue you could do that. I feel like a tool now, I've been doing all these crazy ways to rip shit off the internet and then having to convert them from flv to mp3 and such. :/

Anybody Thrilla 01-17-2010 01:09 AM

And I have entire discographies when I only wanted 2 or 3 albums.

The Franchise 01-17-2010 01:30 AM

Same here ^^

One time I had to download a "Top 500 Songs" pack or some shit for ONE song. :( But I looked everywhere on the internet for it and couldn't find a decent version. Still mad gay

RoXer 01-17-2010 03:15 AM

Man, you guys are retarded

The Franchise 01-17-2010 03:18 AM

no

not all torrents may be able to do it...... i use a pretty unknown one because the main ones won't run on this POS laptop. ive tried everything mang

Juan 01-17-2010 03:20 AM

With uTorrent, when you load a new torrent, it allows you to choose which files you want to download.

Downunder 01-17-2010 06:41 AM

Listen to Juan, he knows

Anybody Thrilla 01-17-2010 09:10 AM

Well Vuze doesn't. That hardly makes me retarded, does it?

It did when it was called Azureus, so it must be there somewhere, you have to click through a menu or two if I remember right though. Can't remember how, since I haven't used it for a few years.

Kapoutman 01-17-2010 12:02 PM

Yeah, Vuze still does. Check this out:

http://wiki.vuze.com/w/The_Azureus_E..._after_install

Penner 01-17-2010 12:36 PM

Vuze does guys.
I've done it before.

Requiem 01-17-2010 02:22 PM

Azureus was pretty horrible and a huge resource hog back in the day, so I can't imagine "Vuze" being much better.

Just use uTorrent.

It makes you slightly retarded for actually using Vuze

Anybody Thrilla 01-19-2010 04:54 PM

Will somebody fucking tell me how to do it already?

Requiem 01-19-2010 05:24 PM

Download uTorrent (utorrent.com) and use it. It is a default feature of the program. Every time you open a torrent file in it, it brings it up, asks where you want to save it, and what files you want (default is all boxes checked, so un-check what you dont want).

thedamndest 01-19-2010 05:25 PM

1) Download utorrent and install utorrent.
2) Download a .torrent file.
3) Double click the .torrent file. This should cause utorrent to bring up a screen that asks you which files you wish to download. You can select all, none, or go through and pick them out individually by clicking the check marks next to each file/folder name.
4) When the .torrent is done you can remove it from your utorrent program and delete it. This will stop your seeding. Some consider this to be a "dick" move.

Anybody Thrilla 01-19-2010 06:33 PM

*SIGH*

You guys are impossible.

Juan 01-19-2010 06:34 PM

I think thedric pretty much covered all of it

Anybody Thrilla 01-19-2010 08:40 PM

I KNOW HOW TO DOWNLOAD UTORRENT, YOU DICKHEAD.

I'm asking how to do it through Vuze, which I already have.

Requiem 01-19-2010 09:39 PM

And we are telling you to use uTorrent, because Vuze is a piece of shit, you dickhead.

Anybody Thrilla 01-20-2010 10:10 AM

Listen. There's a way to do it through Vuze. Somebody here said that they have done it. That's the answer I'm looking for. Failing THAT, maybe I'll try it your way. Fuck you assholes.

Requiem 01-20-2010 01:40 PM

You could have had it done by now if you had installed uTorrent when we said to the first time. In fact, I bet installing uTorrent would LITERALLY take less time than finding out how to do it in shitty Vuze and then recreating those steps and actually doing it.

Now, we have spent too much time explaining how to download uTorrent and it would be inefficient for us to backtrack and explain how to use Vuze. We are committed to the 'uTorrent' explanation and must stick with it now.

Anybody Thrilla 01-20-2010 01:50 PM

It would be equally as quick for someone to tell me how to do it from Vuze. Stop acting like you're fucking 'pot committed'. It's not like I'm sitting here just DYING to download ONE SONG ONLY from a torrent, and I really hope you're not putting too much effort into your faggoty posts.

Requiem 01-21-2010 01:03 PM

I would not help you any further than that based on the fact that you are seemingly incapable of taking a joke. Or advice.

It shouldn't take much common sense to realize that people don't want to tell someone how to use an inferior program. And that's not a joke. Vuze is a horrible program, and you are worse off for continuing to use it. People are joking about it, but the sentiment behind it is completely genuine. Vuze. Is. Shit.

Nobody wants to tell you, because there is a faster, better solution, that doesn't involve using Vuze. Everyone was trying to help you, you uptight cunt. Stop being a whiny little step-child about it. It's not like you paid money for either program.

Indifferent Clox 01-21-2010 03:52 PM

feud of the year material right here

but which feud

ABT v. Utorrent?\

ABT v Vuze?

TPWW v ABT's technical prowess

ABT v himself?

Yo, what the fuck is this all about? Who says I'm being completely serious?

I swear, you guys don't get me at all.

Anybody Thrilla 01-22-2010 09:34 AM

Sorry I'm not as cool as you guys and I use Vuze instead of uTorrent, but I read in this very thread that you can do it on Vuze. I was hoping that a felllow Vuze user could just tell me how to do it. Why is that so crazy?

Anybody Thrilla 01-22-2010 09:46 AM

ME: Hey guys, I can't find the trunk release in my Chevy. Anybody know where it is?

YOU GUYS: Dude, just get a Honda. It's so much better.
