I can't believe those fuckers never send me a functioning system. My xbox crapped out on me a few months ago. First time I ship it..they mail me back a refurbished one with an Xbox live card. "cool" I think to myself..only to have my xbox die like 15 minutes or so after I turn it on. I ship it back..I just got my second one and this one won't even turn on. I got it a few days ago and I thought maybe it was on standby mode or some crap..but nope. Those bastards.

My nephew is on his 3rd "refurbished" one.

Don't forget MAG. 256 players.

Whatever. Sucks for you. I still have my unit I bought launch day. Got the red ring a while back and they had it back to me in 8 days. Same unit, works like a champ.

I bought a refurbished one in April '08 and had the RROD issue in Dec of that same year. I sent it in and got it back on Jan 6th 09. Apparently, my other one couldn't be fixed so they just sent me a brand new unit.

Workin great ever since.

Well the only benefit of them sending me shitty consoles is that every time they send one back they add a gift such as xbox live subscription, live market place stuff, etc. I eventually do want them to give me a fucking working version tho.

I've had mine die twice and I just decided to turn it into a shoe* but that doesn't mean I hate it. Every console you buy has a 100% chance of failing, the time is just random.

I also own a PS3 which has failed more than my 360.

Point is, just because a console fails doesn't mean that everything they do sucks.

Some have a greater chance of failing within a reasonable period, though. And some have a greater chance of failing, even if you take care of your stuff.

For example, the Playstation 2 and XBox 360. Both of these are poorly made consoles. The PS2 had a failure rate of over 1 in 4, and the 360 looks to have a failure rate potentially WAY over 1 in 3.

Then again, it looks like the YLOD for the PS3 and the Wii's...Whatever the Wii gets may both be above the standard electronics 3% failure rate, so even the "reliable systems" kind of suck this gen.
