Okay, now that I'm done trolling funky, that really is a shitty deal.

To be fair on one element, though, a lot of "USB-charged" devices have problems charging because they use more power than they're drawing. I mean, it depends on the use levels and whatnot, but I know I've had problems with it in the past. Hell, I bought a DVR station for my Archos so I could actually charge it while updating shit. Otherwise, it dies mid-process.

Like the article, I can't verify that this shit works, so maybe they're full of it. But this wouldn't exactly be unprecedented.
