I liked Chris Carpenter. Could be a closer if he develops a secondary pitch and can control his 99 MPH fastball. Still has some work to do, but thats not a bad prospect for the Red Sox to get when you consider what the Cubs gave to the Twins for Andy McPhail back in the day (cash, and their 31st ranked prospect).
Not sure whos a fan of what team here, but what are yalls thoughs?

I doubt Carpenter would get a chance to be a closer considering the team is leaning heavily towards Bailey this year and have Bard as a #2 option. Although he brings in more depth to the bullpen which has been pretty horrible the last 2 years in a row.

Too bad no Cards vs Red Sox games set for this season (unless its the World Series) because of the potential for a Chris Carpenter vs Chris Carpenter game being possible would generate at least a few good jokes on NESN during the game.
